YOULIN-GOOD NEIGHBOURS, which is co-sponsored by the Association for International Cultural Exchanges of Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region, Copyright-Protecting Association of Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region and Pakistan-China Institute, is a comprehensive cultural journal and officially published in February, 2012.
The journal is edited both in Urumqi, Xinjiang, China and Islamabad, Pakistan, and is published in Pakistan and distributed in South Asia area, and is subscribed or bought by various departments and offices of the Pakistan governments, the decision-making bodies, scholars and experts from local cultural institutions, high-level decision makers and managers of important companies, and colleges of Pakistan.
YOULIN, printed in fine coated paper, introduces the economic development and social-cultural transition of contemporary China with pictures and concise essays. With all this, it is hoped that the readers will have a better understanding of China and Xinjiang as well. There are some fixed special columns, such as “Cover Story”, “Focus”, “Travel in China”, “Silk Road”, “Ethnic Peoples in China” and “Intangible Cultural Heritage of Xinjiang”, which will help Pakistan readers access to the concise but comprehensive information about the natural and cultural heritages which were recognized by UNESC, and the culture of the ancient Silk Road, and colourful folk customs of the ethnic peoples of China, and historical arts, as well as Chinese literature. Moreover, the journal also offers latest information about the economic and social development of contemporary China for the readers in the South Asia countries
As it is often said that the friendship between Pakistan and China is “higher than the Karakoram Mountains, deeper than the oceans, stronger than steel and sweeter than honey”, YOULIN serves as a piece of cultural card with the hope that a platform for economic cooperation and information exchange of the two countries will be built. Its foundation will further strengthen Sino-Pakistani friendship, promote mutual understanding and trust between the two peoples and push forward bilateral relations in political, economic, scientific and technological, cultural areas and it will consolidate the cooperation and exchanges between two countries and peoples. Meanwhile, as an economic information hub for the cooperation and communication between the two countries, YOULIN is keen to promote the cooperation between the enterprises and to boost trade and investment as well to meet the needs of the two countries and to realize a win-win cooperation in the two countries. The intimacy friendship between China and Pakistan would be embodied and witnessed by each issue of YOULIN, and in the coming years, both of Chinese Editorial Department and Pakistan Department will work together for a brighter future.
