Xinjiang UETD Development and Construction (Group) Holdings Co Ltd, a state-owned enterprise in Urumqi Economic and Technological Development Zone (Toutunhe district), received a special qualification for general contracting of constructions on Jan 22.

　　The special grade qualification is one of the highest levels of construction contracting qualification and it will become a permit for the company to enter high-end markets.

　　The company now has the ability to gain contracts to build projects of all grades, handle EPC (engineering procurement construction) and project management.

　　Zhang Junxiang, director of administrative committee of Toutunhe district, said that state-owned enterprises are the pillar of the district's economy and play a leading role in boosting local economic development. They should seize opportunities brought by new industries including retirement industry and green architecture to speed up transformation and upgrading.

　　In 2017, UETD Group was contracted to build 139 key projects including Urumqi Rail Line 1, Line 2 and Line 4. Eight of the projects were rated as municipal-level "safe and environmentally friendly construction sites", five of them were rated as regional-level "safe and environmentally friendly construction sites", six of them received 'Xinjiang municipal award of golden cup" and the Zhineng building in Xinjiang Software Park won "national quality project award".
