Taiwan seminar focuses on mainland market potential

TAIPEI, July 12 (Xinhua) -- A seminar in Taiwan focused on the market potential of the Chinese mainland has just concluded.

The seminar, held in Taipei Thursday, invited several Taiwanese business people to share their experience and success stories about tapping the potential of the mainland market regarding healthcare, cosmetic products and e-commerce.

Lin Fang-Miao, with the event's organizer, said that as average disposable income on the mainland rises, demand for quality products and services will inevitably increase, which provides excellent opportunities for Taiwanese businesses.

"Areas such as healthcare, tourism and leisure activities will see particularly rapid growth," she said.

She urged business people from Taiwan to grasp the opportunities and try to develop businesses on the mainland.

Buyers from the mainland, including those from e-commerce giant JD.com, attended the event and discussed business with local entrepreneurs. Similar seminars will be held in Taipei and Kaohsiung to promote cross-Strait businesses in the following months.
