URUMQI, March 18 (Xinhua) -- A famous snack street in Changji, a city in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, is back in business following epidemic measures.

The last COVID-19 patient in the region was given the all clear and discharged from hospital on March 10. This news paved the way for business to reopen.

Since vendors were given the green light on March 13, 61 out of 64 shops on Changji Snack Street have reopened. The street is now abuzz with the hustle and bustle of shoppers keen to try and buy various Xinjiang delicacies.

Located in the north of the city, the street is a popular tourist destination. It was temporarily closed over public safety concerns amid the outbreak of novel coronavirus.

To help small businesses, like those on Changji Snack Street, weather the storm, the city government has cut taxes and waived rents.
