China's Xinjiang villagers embrace new life after relocation

Aktash means "white desert" in the Uygur language. Three years ago, it actually was a desert. But now, it's been turned into Aktash Town, the largest poverty-relief resettlement site in Xinjiang, China with a population of 14,000. In three years, nine manufacturing enterprises producing gloves, clothing and shoes have been introduced to the town, providing stable employment to the relocated residents.
