With a chubby body and a long tail, bearded reedlings are common residents in reed beds by lakes.
Since December, a flock of about 20 bearded reedlings found a home in a reedy bank at Qiyi Reservoir in Bole City, northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.
They swiftly jump through reed flowers to find food. The bird eats reed aphids in summer, and reed seeds in winter.
