Relocation helps mountain villagers embrace new life in Xinjiang, China

URUMQI, Jan. 11 (Xinhua) --Kulan Agu Village in northwest China's Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region is located in deep Kunlun Mountain with an average altitude above 3,400 meters.

Villagers were once plagued by deep poverty due to harsh environment and inconvenient traffic.

In 2018, a relocation program was launched to help the villagers get rid of poverty.

It only took eight months to complete the relocation of all the 147 households in the village.
