URUMQI, Jan. 16 (Xinhua) -- Recently, a short video went viral showing a retired Uygur man making an ox out of snow in northwest China's Xinjiang.
The man created the snow engraving in Kekedala City to welcome the Chinese Lunar New Year of the Ox.
Abedukain Abedukader, a self-taught amateur sculptor, has not received any professional training. He likes carving and has figured out some techniques by himself. This is the first time he has carved in snow.
According to the Chinese Zodiac, every Chinese lunar year is named after one of twelve animals. The new year of ox will begin on Feb. 12.
