Mike Pompeo is an American politician who prides himself on “lying, cheating and stealing.” He has lied and poisoned too much in the past few years and has been wildly attacking and smearing Xinjiang. Ignoring facts, he made groundless attacks, deliberately slandered China's governance policy in Xinjiang, grossly interfered in China's internal affairs and severely violated international law and basic norms governing international relations. Pompeo's lies on Xinjiang are not only major insults on the Xinjiang residents, but also major insults on the judgment of the international community. What's worse, he has betrayed and challenged humanity's morality and conscience. As a Xinjiang Uyghur cadre, I am strongly dissatisfied with and firmly opposed to this.

In recent years, tremendous changes have taken place in Xinjiang, and unprecedented achievements have been made in economic and social development and improvement of people's livelihood. People of all ethnic groups in Xinjiang have a growing sense of fulfillment, happiness and security. United closely as seeds of a pomegranate, they are like a family and love each other deeply.

The so-called Xinjiang related issues are not ethnic, religious or human rights issues at all, but issues of combating violence and terrorism, separatism and de-radicalization. For some time, the “three forces” have incited ethnic hatred and made violent terrorist attacks, seriously jeopardized social harmony and stability, impeded economic development and social progress in Xinjiang, caused great harm to the life safety and property of people of all ethnic groups, and seriously trampled on human dignity. In the face of the real threat of terrorism and extremism, Xinjiang has taken decisive measures to fight against terrorism and de-radicalization in accordance with law, which is fully in line with the purposes and principles of the United Nations in combating terrorism and safeguarding basic human rights. Practice has proved that these measures are in line with the realities of Xinjiang and have achieved remarkable results. Terrorism and extremism have been effectively curbed, public security has improved significantly, and the basic rights of all ethnic groups such as the rights to subsistence and development have been guaranteed to the greatest extent.

Pompeo’s so-called “genocide and crime against humanity in Xinjiang” is a completely false allegation and a malicious farce to smear China. In fact, from 2010 to 2018, the population of ethnic minorities in Xinjiang increased by 2.8749 million, an increase of 22.14 percent. Among them, the population of Uyghur increased from 10.1715 million to 12.7184 million, an increase of 2.5469 million or 25.04%. The truth has long been told but Pompeo has turned a deaf ear to it and indulged in his self-fabricated anti-China fantasy.

Pompeo’s neglect of truth and pursuit of lies reflects not only his own despicable character, but also his ill intention to interfere in China's internal affairs, undermine Xinjiang’s stability and security, and contain China's development under the pretext of human rights in Xinjiang. In Xinjiang, there hasn’t been any violent or terrorist case over the past four years or so. Cases related to crime, public order, public security and safety have been greatly declined. But Pompeo has deliberately turned a blind eye to all those facts for his ill intention to mislead the international community through spreading lies and rumors on Xinjiang related issues.

Languages, traditional cultures and customs of all ethnic minorities in Xinjiang have been well protected and inherited. All residents fully enjoy their rights, including the right to subsistence and development. Xinjiang protects workers' rights and has made a lot of efforts to provide training opportunities and jobs for people of all ethnic groups in Xinjiang, so as to encourage, assist and support them in shaking off poverty and living a better life through diligence and hard work. During the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic, the Chinese government also puts people and life front and center and takes resolute, scientific measures to protect the safety and health of all people including Uyghurs.

There is no better place than the dustbin of history for Pompeo and all his vicious lies and influence. History will deliver a fair verdict on Pompeo and his like and the day of reckoning will come. What Pompeo has done is bound to be nailed to the pillar of everlasting shame of history !
