On January 19, 2020, Mike Pompeo, the former US State Secretary, the liar by nature, released a statement declaring on behalf of the State Department a determination that “China has committed crimes against humanity and genocide against Muslim Uyghurs and other members of ethnic minority groups in Xinjiang”. This absurd statement distorts facts, sows discord and the ill intentions are all too clear. Basically, they are unwilling to see prosperous China and China’s Xinjiang whose residents are living a happy life in a stable environment. They intend to drive wedges between ethnic groups, destabilize Xinjiang and stop China’s endeavor to achieve the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. I am strongly indignant and opposed to all these evil acts.
I was born and grew up in Xinjiang, personally witnessing sustained economic development, social stability, a better standard of living, unprecedented cultural prosperity and solidarity among all ethnic groups. Languages, traditional cultures and customs of all ethnic minorities in Xinjiang have been well protected and inherited. All residents fully enjoy their rights, including the right to subsistence and development. Such a thing only exists in the ugly political conspiracies of Pompeo and his likes. It has never happened, is not happening and will never happen in China!
As an ordinary Uyghur woman, I have my own job and career and shoulder the responsibility of carrying forward the spirit of times including self-respect, self-confidence, self-reliance and self-improvement of modern women. My personal experience proves that the so-called “genocide” and “forced sterilization” are sheer lies and nonsense. Over the past years, with the policy of family planning implemented in Xinjiang, women have freely chosen safe, effective and appropriate measures of birth control and laid emphasis on better prenatal and postnatal care and sound and healthy development of children. As wives and mothers, we enjoy all kinds of rights and status in family, society and work. At the same time, we endeavor to create favorable family environment, work together to safeguard ethnic solidarity and social stability and contribute to social development.
I feel very grieved to see some people suffering badly from acts of religious extremism. After combating religious extremism, Xinjiang has never been more prosperous than it is now, with unprecedented achievements in socio-economic development and improvement of people’s life. Residents in Xinjiang live a happy life in a stable environment. These iron-clad facts show that a series of measures of maintaining social stability against anti-force have won strong support from the people of all ethnic groups including Uyghur people in Xinjiang.
As one member of the big family of the Chinese nation, we never allow any anti-China force to interfere in its internal affairs. Xinjiang is China’s Xinjiang. Uyghur people are part of 56 ethnic groups of the Chinese nation. We love our great nation. We love our beautiful Xinjiang.
Pompeo’s false care, real interference and sheer destruction aim to drag Xinjiang into the trap of human rights and toolkit of interfering in China’s internal affairs, and global opinion into the snare of his discourse. Pompeo is the maker of human rights disasters, far too deviating from the truth itself. History reveals that any attempt to sow discord and contain China’s development is doomed to failure and becomes the laughingstock in human history.
What about the development in Xinjiang? What about the life of Uyghur people? Pompeo and his likes have no right to speak. Only the people of all ethnic groups living in Xinjiang have the final say over it for the simple reason that we witness, participate in and benefit a lot from social stability and progress in Xinjiang. We are very proud to declare that people of all ethnic groups in Xinjiang are firmly resolved to defend China’s national sovereignty, security and development interests.
