On January 19, 2020, Mike Pompeo, the former US State Secretary, the liar by nature, released a statement declaring on behalf of the State Department a determination that “China committed crimes against humanity and genocide against Muslim Uyghurs and other members of ethnic minority groups in Xinjiang”. This notorious liar and cheater made himself a doomed clown and a joke of the century with his show of lies and madness just before the curtain fell.

Xinjiang has been a multi-ethnic region since ancient times. All ethnic groups in Xinjiang live in harmony and solidarity, share prosperity and development and work together to build our beautiful homeland. By the end of 2020, the people of all ethnic groups in Xinjiang have achieved the goal of building a moderately prosperous society together with the whole nation, shaking off poverty comprehensively.

It is universally seen that over the past decades, China’s Xinjiang has greatly improved human rights, enjoying ethnic equality and religious harmony. There hasn’t been any violent or terrorist case over the past four years, with a drastic fall in criminal cases, and cases of endangering public security and public security cases. The people of all ethnic groups have enjoyed a much stronger sense of safety. At present, Xinjiang is experiencing its most auspicious period of development and prosperity, enjoying sustained economic development, social stability, a better standard of living, unprecedented cultural prosperity and solidarity among all ethnic groups. Beautiful Xinjiang has become a popular tourist attraction at home and abroad.

During the fight against the Covid-19 epidemic, the Chinese government puts people and life front and center and takes resolute, scientific and decisive measures to protect the safety and health of all people to the greatest extent possible. In sharp contrast, Pompeo treats American lives as a mere trifle and racks his brains to practise scapegoating rather than concentrate on controlling the pandemic in US. This blatantly tramples on the life and health rights of American people. With so many stains, what reason and cheek does Pompeo have to criticize the situation of human rights in Xinjiang? It is really ridiculous.

Pompeo and his likes have concocted lies of the century about Xinjiang and slung mud at China’s Xinjiang policy, standing on the opposite side of the 1.4 billion Chinese people including 25 million Xinjiang residents and contrary to humanity’s morality and conscience. Any anti-China force can only make us more closely united and resolutely determined to safeguard the stability in Xinjiang.

I firmly believe that no anti-force will ever shake the strong determination of people of all ethnic groups in Xinjiang who are as united as seeds of a pomegranate to defend China’s national sovereignty, security and development interests. I firmly believe that any conspiring to destroy the prosperity and stability in Xinjiang and contain China’s development is bound to fail and will inevitably become the laughingstock across centuries.
