There is a saying that you can never wake up a person who turns a deaf ear to others!

Former US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo is a shameless liar who always turns a deaf ear to truth. He made up blatant lies about Xinjiang-related issues, indulged in his “diplomacy of lies” on the international stage, and deliberately ignored the prosperity and development of Xinjiang and the happy life of the Uyghur people. Pompeo will surely leave a bad name forever with his detestable words and evil deeds.

In my view as a Uyghur intellectual, Pompeo is a doomsday clown and a joke of the century. His so-called determination that China committed “crimes against humanity” and “genocide” against Muslim Uyghurs and other members of ethnic minority groups in Xinjiang is nothing but a piece of waste paper. Genocide will never happen on the land of China under the leadership of the Communist Party. It has not happened, is not happening, and will never happen in China.

I want to tell Pompeo that we Uyghurs live and work in peace and contentment in a prosperous age. You rogue politicians with ulterior motives think that “An ant can shake the tree”, which is just a joke and a daydream that even a child would be ashamed of.

As a Uyghur, I would like to ask Pompeo, are you really blind and can’t see the prosperity and development of Xinjiang? I was born in beautiful Xinjiang. China has published eight white papers to present with solid figures and facts a life of stability, solidarity and harmony enjoyed by all ethnic groups in Xinjiang. In recent years, the region has received 1,200-plus diplomats, journalists and representatives of religious groups from more than 100 countries, who witnessed unity, amity and happiness among various ethnic groups as well as the scenic views of Xinjiang. In the Internet Age, can Pompeo not see or hear the good life in Xinjiang with pictures and truth? Unconscionable smearing Xinjiang means a bad heart, ulterior motives, rogue logic and hegemony.

I want to tell Pompeo that I am the best example of how the young Uyghur people have grown up under the care of the Communist Party of China. I came from Kashgar, a city 1,500 kilometers away from Urumqi, the capital of Xinjiang. I was born in an ordinary Uyghur family and grew up from a Uyghur youth who could not speak a single word of the national language to a Doctor of Medicine. I was elected as a deputy to the National People’s Congress and once attended the United Nations General Assembly in Switzerland on behalf of young Chinese scholars. My seven brothers and sisters are all public servants, living a happy and secure life. My father, who is more than 90 years old, receives the state pension every month and has medical insurance reimbursement when he is sick. During the Spring Festival and other holidays, our family of more than 30 people get together, enjoying the happy moment and life.

My big family and my growth are just the epitome of Xinjiang’s tens of thousands of Uyghur families. The Uyghur population increased by 25.04% from 2010 to 2018, higher than that of the entire population in Xinjiang, which was 13.99%, and much higher than the growth rate of the Han population, which was 2%. There were 61 deputies from Xinjiang in the 13th National People’s Congress, of which 37 were ethnic minorities, accounting for 60.65%. They fulfill the right to participate in the deliberation and administration of state on behalf of the ethnic minorities in Xinjiang for the development of the country.

Pompeo’s lies on Xinjiang and other matters are not only major insults on the 25 million Xinjiang residents, but also a betrayal and challenge to morality and conscience. Pompeo’s ignorance of truth and pursuit of lies reflects his ill intention to interfere in China’s internal affairs, undermine its stability and security, and contain its development under the pretext of human rights in Xinjiang, which is an entirely fabricated issue serving to smear China and the Communist Party.

As an ethnic Uyghur, I would like to ask Pompeo, do you know the tremendous efforts made by the Chinese government to fight Covid-19? I want to tell you that “life is priceless and the people are supreme” has been fully demonstrated in Xinjiang under the leadership of the Communist Party. In 2020, when fighting Covid-19, Xinjiang provided free medical treatment, free nucleic acid test and now intends to offer free vaccination. Have your country done that?

As a native of Xinjiang and a Uyghur Doctor of Medicine, I have witnessed the state’s concern for the life and health of ethnic minorities in Xinjiang. Five years ago, Xinjiang implemented free health check-ups for all people, and achieved full coverage of the serious disease medical insurance. There is a national people’s hospital in every county, a health center in every township, and a health clinic in every administrative village. People of all ethnic groups in Xinjiang have realized their dream of seeking medical treatment without leaving the village for minor illnesses and not leaving the county for serious illnesses.

In addition, in order to further protect the life and health of the ethnic minorities in Xinjiang, the state has made great efforts to train ethnic medical talents, free medical students and rural doctors for counties and townships. In today’s Xinjiang, Uyghur medical experts independently trained in Xinjiang are active in the north and south of the Tianshan Mountains, carefully guarding the health of the people in the border areas.

Today’s Xinjiang, which is united, stable, beautiful and peaceful, is only a miniature of China. As a member of the Chinese nation and a member of the Uyghur ethnic group, I am extremely proud to be in China. I am ashamed of what Pompeo has done. But Pompeo should know this: our peaceful and prosperous Xinjiang will not be dragged through mud by his smear and slander; the 1.4 billion Chinese people of 56 ethnic groups, united closely as seeds of a pomegranate, will not be slowed for a second by the petty distractions in our journey towards the great national rejuvenation. There is no better place than the dustbin of history for Pompeo and all his vicious lies and influence. History will deliver a fair verdict on him and the day of reckoning will come.
