Bahtiyar Dawut, First-level Inspector of the Department of Ecology and Environment in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region

　　Recently, the former U.S. Secretary of State Pompeo publicly stigmatized Xinjiang-related policies before leaving the office for his own political expediency, which was no doubt a serious interference in China’s internal affairs, a blatant violation of international laws and the basic norms governing international relations, a malicious insult to people of all ethnic groups in Xinjiang. This has fully exposed his malicious attempts and sinister intentions. As a Xinjiang cadre, I express my strong indignation and condemnation towards his behavior and I firmly oppose it.

　　1. Interfering in China’s internal affairs with Xinjiang-related issues will never cover up his gangster logic

　　Former U.S. Secretary of State Pompeo, out of his own political expediency, using the tricks of “burying mines, arson” in the CIA, wantonly spread fabricated information and irresponsible remarks before stepping down. He made big noises using those “actors” who are ill-behaviored and habitual liars under the principle of “take advantage of them when they are consistent with his own interest and resolutely abandons them otherwise”. He stigmatized Xinjiang-related policies by throwing out baseless and irresponsible fallacies. The behavior of disregarding the facts and confusing evil and justice is full of bias against China’s policies for governing Xinjiang. He denied Xinjiang’s achievements in development and ignored the true feelings of people of all ethnic groups in Xinjiang, including the Uygur people, which has once again exposed his bottomless double standards, hypocritical and sinister gangster-logic. This is absolutely a gross interference in China’s internal affairs, a flagrant trampling on international norms and an attempt to destabilize Xinjiang. We people of all ethnic groups in Xinjiang will never tolerate such behavior and will firmly oppose it.

　　2. Evil intentions are concealed in Pompeo’s “fake concern, real interference and sabotage”

　　Terrorism and extremism are the common enemies of human society and the common targets of the international community. However, Pompeo has long been a blatant backer and promoter of terrorist forces by condoning support for the forces of violence and terrorism, meeting with notorious terrorists and separatists repeatedly, giving them free passes and secretly funding them, and even publicly defending them under the banner of “democracy” and “human rights”. What Pompeo has done is using terrorism as a tool to contain other countries, which has also fully exposed his sinister intention to “deter China with terror”. It seriously violated international morality and human conscience, and would be despised by all the people believing in kindness and justice. It once again revealed his double standards and hypocrisy. The people of all ethnic groups in Xinjiang will never tolerate this behavior and firmly oppose it.

　　3. Pompeo’s remarks denied the development of Xinjiang’s human rights cause and were completely irresponsible and malicious

　　Pompeo made the fallacy right before the meeting of the UN General Assembly, in an attempt to drag Xinjiang into its preset human rights trap and draw global attention into his discourse trick and use Xinjiang affairs to interfere in China’s internal affairs. He intended to whiten his notorious political assets by denying the great achievements made in the cause of human rights in Xinjiang. Xinjiang has maintained social stability, has had no violent terrorist incidents for more than four consecutive years, and the public security situation has significantly improved through policies of counter-terrorism and deradicalization in accordance with the law. Pompeo chose to turn a blind eye to these facts. From 2010 to 2018, the population of Uygurs in Xinjiang increased from 10.1715 million to 12.7184 million, an increase of 2.5469 million, accounts to 25.04%. This figure is not only higher than the 13.99% increase of Xinjiang’s population, but also significantly higher than the 2% increase of Han population. Again, Pompeo chose to turn a blind eye to these facts. At present, all the people living below the current poverty line have been lifted out of poverty, all the poor villages and counties have been removed from the poverty list, demonstrating a decisive victory in China’s poverty alleviation. The right to education of all ethnic minorities in Xinjiang has been fully guaranteed. The full coverage of nine-year compulsory education has been achieved in Xinjiang, and three-year preschool education and 12-year basic education have been fully covered in southern Xinjiang. No doubt, Pompeo chose to keep his mouth shut towards these achievements. His intentions were sinister. We strongly urge Pompeo to put aside his hypocrisy and immediately stop using rumors to smear and attack Xinjiang.

　　The future and destiny of Xinjiang cannot be messed up by Pompeo’s Xinjiang-related fallacies, nor do we need Pompeo’s irresponsible remarks. Under the leadership of the CPC and with the strong support of China, We are proud to tell the world that the people of all ethnic groups in Xinjiang have never been so confident and hopeful about life and future. The great situation of stability, peace and prosperity in Xinjiang do not come easily. The people of all ethnic groups in Xinjiang do cherish it and will never allow undue interference from outside forces.
