Recently, the notorious former Secretary of America, Pompeo acted a “Doomsday Madness” before stepping down. He maliciously fabricated so-called “crimes against humanity” and “genocide” in Xinjiang, China for his own political expediency. We would like to express strong condemnation and resolute opposition towards this.

The fight against violence and terrorism is not an issue of any ethnic group, religion or human rights, but an issue of counter-terrorism, anti-secession and de-radicalization. Xinjiang has always held high the banner of the rule of law, adhered to the concept of people’s supremacy, abide by the equality of all ethnic groups. Policies concerning counter-terrorism and de-radicalization have never been linked to any specific ethnic groups, religions or regions, nor do the so-called “crimes against humanity” and “genocide” issues exist. In recent years, Xinjiang has adopted a series of preventive counter-terrorism and de-radicalization measures in accordance with the law, which have maximized the rescue of the persons who have committed actions or crime concerning terrorism and extremism, eliminated the soil and conditions that breed terrorism and religious extremism, protected the basic rights of citizens from terrorism and religious extremism, and safeguarded the security and human rights of the people of all ethnic groups in Xinjiang. Xinjiang has not had any cases of terrorism for more than 4 years by far, which has not only greatly enhanced the sense of happiness and security of all ethnic groups in Xinjiang, but also made positive efforts and contributions to the cause of international counter-terrorism. At present, Xinjiang enjoys sustained economic development, its society is harmonious and stable, its people’s livelihood is constantly improving, its culture is thriving, and the people of all ethnic groups are hugging each other like pomegranate seeds. Xinjiang is in the best period of prosperity and development in history. The development and progress of Xinjiang, the contentment and happiness of Xinjiang people, are the best response to Pompeo’s denigration.

You never know whether your shoes fit or not until you wear them. The 25 million people of all ethnic groups in Xinjiang have the best say on how well Xinjiang’s human rights are protected and how well their lives are. We people of all ethnic groups are participants, witnesses and beneficiaries of the social stability and development of Xinjiang. In the more than 70 years’ history of the New China, especially in the past 40 years of reform and opening-up, Xinjiang has undergone tremendous changes. Great achievements have been made in Xinjiang’s economy and society, the lives of people of all ethnic groups have improved significantly, the social security system has become more and more comprehensive, and the prominent issues of guaranteeing people free from worries over food and clothing and have access to compulsory education, basic medical services and safe housing have been basically solved. Decisive achievements have been made in the fight against poverty in Xinjiang, the working and living conditions of the poor have been greatly improved, all poverty-stricken counties have been lifted out of poverty, and the problem of absolute poverty in Xinjiang has been historically solved. Central government support and national counterpart assistance to Xinjiang have been increasing. The transfer payments from the central government to the Xinjiang Autonomous Region and the XPCC is growing substantially every year, and the 19 provinces and municipalities have comprehensively strengthened all-round counterpart support. Xinjiang’s cause of national unity and progress is flourishing, ethnic unity can be seen everywhere. The in-depth exchanges, integration and cohesion among all ethnic groups have brought us together, and the work of national unity and progress has been fruitful. Xinjiang’s brilliant achievements in all aspects have greatly impressed the world.

Pompeo’s deliberate attempts to discredit our country’s measures on combating terrorism and safeguarding stability will only further expose its double standards on the issue of counter-terrorism, and will only allow the Chinese people to further understand its hypocrisy and sinister intentions. What Xinjiang possesses today did not fall from the sky. Instead, it was created through the hard work of the people of all ethnic groups under the firm leadership of the CPC. The stability, harmony, prosperity and development of Xinjiang is hard-won. We will cherish it more and will never allow external forces to interfere in it. No slander can stop the people of all ethnic groups in Xinjiang from uniting and forging ahead. No rumor can erase the fact that the cause of human rights in Xinjiang has made progress. No attempt can interfere with the process of prosperity and development of Xinjiang.
