Recently, Mike Pompeo, the former US Secretary of State issued a so-called condemning atrocities in Xinjiang one day before leaving the office, claiming that China’s policies towards Muslims and other ethnic minorities in Xinjiang constituted “Genocide” and “Crimes Against Humanity” in disregard of facts and justice. Such groundless attacks and deliberate smear of Xinjiang-related policies completely violate the basic international morality and basic conscience of mankind. I express serious indignation, strong condemnation and firm opposition to this. As a native Xinjiang ethnic minority cadre, I have the best say on the situation in Xinjiang. Pompeo’s lies and fallacies are intended to instigate conflicts between China and the US and sow disharmony between ethnic groups. The former US Secretary of State can only be described as “defeated dogs barking” and “mad dogs biting ”.

In fact, Pompeo always takes pride in “lying, cheating and stealing” and pursues “non-traditional diplomatic methods” and “scorched earth foreign policy”, which seriously violates international law and basic norms of international relations and fully unveils his true identity as a liar and unscrupulous person.

Lies cannot conceal the truth. Under the strong leadership of the CPC Central Committee and with the joint efforts of the people of all ethnic groups in Xinjiang, Xinjiang has made unprecedented achievements in the economic and social development as well as in the improvement of people's livelihood. Xinjiang's GDP has increased by 7.2% annually, and all impoverished counties in Xinjiang have been lifted. The overall social situation has continued to be stable and improving, with no violent or terrorist incidents occurring for more than four consecutive years. People in Xinjiang live and work in peace and contentment, with an average annual increase of 9.1% per capita disposable income. And the people of all ethnic groups enjoyed a growing sense of fulfillment, happiness and security, which is universally recognized and applauded by the international community.

Regarding this fact, certain anti-China politicians such as Pompeo pretended not to see and did not want to see. They spread a lot of lies and fallacies on Xinjiang-related issues, with the intention of instigating relations between ethnic groups, destabilizing Xinjiang, hindering Xinjiang’s development, and misleading international public opinion. This fully exposed Pompeo's double standards on counter-terrorism and his purpose of grossly interfering in China's internal affairs under the banner of “human rights”, as well as his attempt to draw Xinjiang into their human rights trap. We must fully recognize Pompeo's evil and sinister intentions, and fight firmly and resolutely to the end so that his unscrupulous ambition will be made public and fail totally.
