On January 19 local time, former US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo still attacked China. Before leaving, he put two “big hats” on Xinjiang, falsely accusing China of committing so-called “genocide” and “crimes against humanity” against Uygur Muslims and other ethnic minorities in Xinjiang. After hearing this, I was very angry and expressed strong protest.

My name is Muzapal Mamat, 51 years old this year, and has worked in the Xinjiang Academy of Social Sciences. I was born and raised in Xinjiang, so I have the best say in the situation of Xinjiang. In recent years, Xinjiang has insisted on addressing both symptoms and root causes, combining crack-down with prevention, and has taken a series of measures to effectively curbed the frequent occurrence of violent and terrorist activities, which have maintained national unity and security to the greatest extent, and guaranteed the rights to life, health, development and other basic rights of the people of all ethnic groups in Xinjiang. There have been no violent or terrorist incidents in Xinjiang for more than four consecutive years. All ethnic groups are equal and united, with harmonious religions, and the people live in peace and stability.

From 2014 to 2019, I personally participated in the “Comprehend, Benefit& Assemble” work in the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. I was stationed in the village of Langru Township, Hotan County, Hotan, and personally participated and witnessed the tremendous changes in Langru Township. We have actively guided the general public to use the standard spoken and written Chinese language to fundamentally solve the problem of the low level of national language among the Uygur people in South Xinjiang. Through the study of laws and regulations, the general public have enhanced their legal awareness, and their understanding of the rights and obligations of citizens, and consciously abide by the national Constitution and laws. Through vocational skills education and training, the general public have generally mastered the skills that can directly engage in various industries such as clothing processing, electronic product assembly, and food processing. Through vigorous promotion of rural civilization, active guidance of the construction of a new socialist countryside, we have enabled the general public to learn more scientific and cultural knowledge and have thoroughly eliminated the past ignorant and religious extreme ideas in the minds of the general public. These tangible changes cannot be denied. At the same time, the government has implemented the zero-employment program for households, the rural housing program and the nomadic settlement program, established the major disease insurance system, and the subsistence allowance system for urban and rural residents, fully respected the freedom of religious belief of all ethnic groups. These tangible benefits have made the 25 million people of all ethnic groups in Xinjiang genuinely happy and praised each other, and have significantly improved their sense of fulfillment, happiness and security.

Pompeo denies Xinjiang’s efforts and achievements to respect and protect human rights by fabricating facts, confusing the public, and other methods. This completely violates the facts and the mainstream public opinion of the international community. It will only make the people of all ethnic groups in Xinjiang aware of his hypocrisy and vicious intentions.
