Asiye Abdul, Political and Legal Committee of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region
On January 19, 2021, Mike Pompeo, the worst U.S. Secretary of State in history, who is proud of “lying, cheating and stealing”, released a Xinjiang-related fallacy and launched an unprovoked attack so as to stigmatizing Xinjiang deliberately. With quite limited understanding of Xinjiang and Xinjiang people, Pompeo wantonly interfered in Xinjiang-related issues and China’s internal affairs. This was nothing but a desperate struggle before he stepped down. It went without saying that the only intention he had was to undermine the harmony, stability, prosperity of Xinjiang by sowing discord between ethnic groups, inciting ethnic hatred and attempting to create unrest in Xinjiang, which is extremely sinister, absurd and despicable. We must sharpen our eyes and never be deceived!
As a female cadre who grew up in the warm family of the motherland and thriving Xinjiang, I know firsthand that we wouldn’t live the happy life today without the CPC. There are five brothers and sisters in my family and we all grew up in the embrace of the motherland. Currently, we are working in different positions and enjoying various preferential policies. As the biggest beneficiaries of the national policy, my family has witnessed great changes in Xinjiang during the 40 years of reform and opening-up and the hard-won stability in Xinjiang. Under the care of the Party and the government, my children have received good educations, my friends and relatives of ethnic minorities have gone abroad to travel and do business thanks to favorable circumstances. Living in the big family of the Chinese nation, we feel extremely proud, happy and satisfied from the bottom of our hearts.
In November 2016, I volunteered to embark on the journey of working in the village in southern Xinjiang. At that time, the situation in rural areas is serious and complex. As members of the task force, my colleagues and I treated the villagers as our family, taking care of their lives and helping them with the solution of problems concerning clothing, food, accommodation, production, medical treatment, housing reform, employment and income increment etc. As cadre occupying in woman-related work in the village, I knew clearly about the infinite care given to the rural women by the Party and the government. They were provided with opportunities to training, labor, employment, medical examination, medical treatment, visit and travel etc, and all these were offered without any charge. The women compatriots in the village are beneficiaries of our country’s policies on protecting women and children, and their rights to study freely, live freely, procreate freely and work freely are fully guaranteed under national laws, which has in return brought them a brand-new mental outlook and a more positive mindset. They are now living a happy life by running their family and educating their children.
Under the preferential policies and vigorously support of the Party, many Uygur people were lifted out of poverty and they embarked on the journey of moderate prosperity with higher income. Moreover, the lives of many Uygur fellows no longer limited to the village they live, they began to go sightseeing, go shopping and work in cities, and could even afford to travel in other provinces and abroad. Dozens of my sisters have travelled abroad and my brother has opened a travel company abroad now. All of us are living freely in China. This is the Xinjiang I adore most, a place that is full of freedom and happiness.
I do want to ask “law-ignorant Pompeo” “lunatic Pompeo” “fool Pompeo”: where on earth in the world can there be such a high growth rate and a carefree life of “genocide”. At present, Xinjiang enjoys a remarkable improvement in social conduct, a sustained social stability, and an improved public order, presenting a good situation of ethnic equality and unity, religious harmony, and people’s lives here are stable and peaceful. Mr. Pompeo, I bet you must be jealous of us! Your words and actions have not only seriously hurt the feelings of me, but also the feelings of my sisters and brothers, the kind-hearted Uygur people and people of all ethnic groups in Xinjiang. I admonish Pompeo, don’t smear our Xinjiang with lies any more! What you have done will only make your a laughing stock of the world.
