Recently, Pompeo, the former US Secretary of State, once again deliberately concocted sensational topics. He used the so-called “genocide” and “crimes against humanity” in Xinjiang China and other unwarranted charges to attack and deliberately discredit the Chinese government’s policy of ruling Xinjiang, and to grossly interfere in China’s internal affairs. As a Uygur civil worker who has been working and living in Xinjiang for a long time, I am very indignant at Pompeo’s reckless behavior of making absurd remarks on Xinjiang related issues, and express my firm opposition and strong condemnation to him.

As we all know, the Xinjiang issue is not a issue of human rights, and ethnic and religious issue at all, but an anti-terrorist and anti-separatist issue. Xinjiang has taken preventive anti-terrorism and anti-extremism measures in accordance with the law, which has effectively guaranteed social security and stability, and guaranteed the life safety of the people of all ethnic groups in Xinjiang and the basic rights of the people of all ethnic groups in Xinjiang to the greatest extent, having significantly enhanced the people’s sense of gain, happiness and security. At present, Xinjiang is in the best period of prosperity and development in history with economy developing continuously, society being harmonious and stable, people’s livelihood improving continuously, and religions being harmonious. There have been no violent and terrorist cases in Xinjiang for more than four consecutive years, and criminal cases, public security cases, individual security cases and public security incidents have decreased significantly. We can say with pride that Xinjiang is one of the safest places in the world.

Over the years, the Chinese government has issued many precise policies to help the people out of poverty and benefit the people, encouraging, helping and supporting the people of all ethnic groups in Xinjiang to get rid of poverty with their own hands and live a better life. Now, Xinjiang has won a decisive victory in poverty alleviation, and the living standards of people of all ethnic groups in Xinjiang are rising day by day. There is no doubt about this fact. In the combat against COVID-19 in China, the Chinese government, adhering to the principle of the supremacy of the people and the supremacy of life, has taken scientific prevention and adopted effective measures to maximize the protection of the health and life safety of all ethnic groups including the Uygur. At present, the social security system in Xinjiang is becoming perfect with the implementation of free physical examination for all people, the coverage rate of basic medical insurance for residents being close to full coverage, and the health and welfare security benefiting the people of all ethnic groups in Xinjiang, including the Uygur people. This is a fact we have personally witnessed.

My father was engaged in the translation of ethnic languages all his life. In his early years, he worked in Beijing and made positive contributions to the popularization of the party’s ethnic and religious policies and the cause of ethnic unity in Xinjiang. Now at his old age, he needs to be hospitalized for a long time because of serious illness. If it were not supported by a good social security system, the high medical expenses would have brought his family in poverty. My family and I are sincerely grateful to the party and our country. If what Pompeo said were true, how could our family study, work and live in peace now? As one of China’s 56 ethnic groups, Uygur people live happily in the warm family of our motherland. Our motherland is our strong backing. We don’t need the “concern” of outsiders, and we don’t allow outsiders to speak wantonly to destroy the unity and harmony of our big family.

The fabrications spread by Pompeo on the issue of Xinjiang are pure nonsense. Ignoring the facts and the true feelings of the people of all ethnic groups in Xinjiang, Pompeo discredited the hard work of the people of all ethnic groups in Xinjiang for social stability and long-term stability. His shameless behavior could only cause strong indignation of the people of all ethnic groups in Xinjiang. His platitudes are full of political prejudice and lies, which once again exposes his double standards on anti-terrorism anti-extremism, and have also made us see his evil hegemony and sinister intention of interfering in China’s internal affairs through Xinjiang related issues.

We firmly believe that Pompo’s attempt to use Xinjiang related issues to stir up ethnic dissensions in China, undermine Xinjiang’s prosperity and stability, and curb China’s development and growth will never succeed. There is no force in the world that can stop Xinjiang's progress, and Xinjiang’s future will be better!
