Abuduxukuer Abulimiti, School of basic medicine, Xinjiang Medical University
If you want to know how hypocritical, shameless a person of habitual liar can be, you can take a look at Mr. Pompeo, the former Secretary of State of the United States. On January 19, the former US Secretary of State Pompeo falsely accused Xinjiang of committing “genocide” and “crimes against humanity” against Uygur Muslims and ethnic minorities in Xinjiang. Pompeo knows nothing about Xinjiang, let alone the actual living and working conditions of our ethnic minorities. How dares he fabricate so many kinds of “accusations” for us, discrediting our party’s policy of ruling Xinjiang and the policy for ethnic minorities and smearing our party’s international image. As an intellectual of ethnic minorities and a witness to the rapid development of Xinjiang, I feel indignant to Pompeo’s groundless political lies which are extremely ridiculous. His ugliness and shamelessness prompts me to stand up firmly to expose his sinister intention with my own experience.
My name is Abuduxukuer Abulimiti. I was born and grew up in Xinjiang. I am currently the vice president of the school of basic medicine of Xinjiang Medical University. I am also a doctoral degree holder, associate professor and master’s supervisor, in charge of scientific research and postgraduate affairs in Xinjiang Medical University.
When I was a university student, I studied clinical medicine in Xinjiang Medical University for free. From 2003 to 2008, the university sent me to study abroad, during which all my tuition fees were reimbursed by my university. After returning to China, the university provided me with a start-up fund for scientific research. In 2010, I was once again given the opportunity to study with Zhong Nanshan academician team of Guangzhou National Institute of Respiratory Diseases for one year. All the expenses during this period were covered by the state. After this precious opportunity, my scientific research ability has been greatly improved. Looking back on these years, I personally enjoyed Xinjiang’s care and training for professionals of ethnic minorities. In recent years, civil workers and intellectuals of ethnic minorities have become an important backbone of economic and social development in Xinjiang.
In the past few years of grassroots service, I have witnessed that the poor people in Xinjiang do not need to worry about food and clothing. The compulsory education, basic medical care and housing safety have been guaranteed. All poor villages have access to asphalt road, water pipes, power and network. Farmers have moved from the shabby clod houses into comfortable houses. Children enjoy free education, sitting in spacious and bright classrooms, reading and studying. They can also have three free meals a day at school with delicious and nutritious food. With all these conditions, children are growing up in health and happiness. Women’s social status has been significantly improved, their rights and interests are protected by law, and they are playing increasingly important role in various fields. By the end of 2020, the poor people in Xinjiang have achieved a comprehensive poverty alleviation. Xinjiang, an ancient land, is undergoing rapid changes. The progress is obvious to all. The government has done countless good things for the people. The people of all ethnic groups sincerely thank the party and the government. Their happiness is beyond words.
Actions speak louder than words. I want to ask Pompeo, have you solved the problem of racial discrimination in your own country? You have been too overconfident of instructing others what to do. For what purpose are you making up so many lies? I strongly urge you to stop your hypocritical and biased talk and behavior and immediately stop using slanders to smear and attack Xinjiang. I strongly urge you to respect the facts and the true situation in Xinjiang.
