Kongduzizhayitaya, Opera Troupe of Xinjiang Art Theater
On January 19, 2021, the former US Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo launched some false remarks on Xinjiang, willfully attacking and deliberately smearing Xinjiang. Pompeo claimed that “Xinjiang has committed crimes against humanity and genocide towards Muslims and ethnic minorities”. What Pompeo said is total nonsense, savagely intervening China’s internal affairs and severely damaging international law and fundamental rules in international relations. The so-called claims by Pompoe is just a shameless farce.
As a Uygur artistic worker, as a national primary performer in the Opera Troupe of Xinjiang Art Theater, and as member of Xinjiang CPPCC, I want to prove what Pompeo said is nonsense with my own experience. My father was one of the first groups of Xinjiang students who were admitted to the Central Academy of Drama in Beijing and I was born in the big complex of the Troupe. In this complex, children of various ethnic groups played together, studied together and made progress together. The deepest impression in my memory is that all the children always had something in common, though they might speak different languages or dialects. We always played the games that we liked together. Those unforgettable memories are always on my mind. When I was 7, my parents sent me to Professor Chen Wei-shun in “Xinjiang Art School” to learn to play violin. Professor Chen not only instructed me on how to play violin, but also taught me Chinese, which enabled me at a very early age to realize the importance of learning standard national language. With the wonderful growing up environment and the education I got from my parents, and also with my enthusiasm in art, I was successfully admitted to the Central Academy of Drama to learn professional performance. In the beginning I was not accustomed to the study there, but gradually I got better and better. From the love of art to more profound study and research in art, from study to performing in one work after another, so many teachers had given their full attention in instructing me. More and more I realized the true meaning of the term “great Chinese family”.
In 2014 I was fortunate enough to take part in the shooting of the file True Love. The whole crew included 8 ethnic groups as Han, Uygur, Kazakh etc. In the whole 78 days of shooting, we were just like a “great Chinese family”, going through various pleasures and hardships together. This special experience not only made me reflect on my future career, but also, once again, made me realize the true significance of ethnic unity and the responsibility that we artists should shoulder.
With the above explanation, the conclusion can be made: facts speaker louder than words. Under the leadership of the Communist Party of China, Xinjiang went through earth-shaking changes in the past years. The economy and society developed, the living standard improved, and the humans rights have been fully protected, which were unprecedented achievements in history. Nowadays, both in northern and southern Tianshan Mountains, society is stable, business is prosperous and people are living in peace and contentment. This is such a bright picture of Xinjiang that all the world is seeing. The great achievements of Xinjiang are not to be smeared and defamed by such clowns as Pompeo. We firmly believe that the rumors and lies made up by Pompeo will be surely swept into the garbage bin of history. Only by doing that will the world be more harmonious and peaceful, and that will Xinjiang be more harmonious and peaceful!
