Dilnur Mamat, Teacher at the College of Fine Arts, Xinjiang Arts University
Recently, the former US Secretary of State Pompeo concocted with some anti-China politicians and scholars such lies like “mass detention”, “forced labor” and “forced sterilization”, ignoring the reality of prosperous development in Xinjiang, making groundless accusation of “Xinjiang committing genocide”. Being a minority teacher, who has been nurtured by the CPC and the government, I strongly condemn and firmly oppose to his remarks.
Pompeo continuously released false allegations with ideological and cold war mindset, distorting facts, launching malicious attacks on the CPC and Chinese social system. The reality is the CPC always prioritizes people’s interest in the first place. After the 18th Congress of the CPC, almost 100 million people were lifted out of poverty, achieving astonishing accomplishments in poverty relief. Out of political motivation, Pompeo slung mud on Xinjiang, pinning false labels on it. But, the reality can show the world his real face of a liar and cheater.
Everyone who was born and raised in Xinjiang is the participant and witness of the stability and development of Xinjiang. My mother was a teacher, my father was a painter; so, I was brought up in an artistic family. Most of our neighbors and friends are Han Chinese or from other ethnic groups, they are also our closest peers. In our family and personal views, ethnicity doesn’t matter at all, only personality matters. When I was in college, I dealt with teachers and classmates of different ethnic groups. Students were given various painting tools for free; they were instructed and guided well. Later, thanks to the preferential policies towards ethnic minorities, I finished my 3 years of Master’s for free; my professional qualifications improved greatly and I came to the college to work. My personal development and progress couldn’t be achieved without the Xinjiang policy of the CPC and the government; so, I am the direct beneficiary.
In my class, most students are ethnic minorities from different parts of Xinjiang, quite a number of whom are from rural areas. The way they dress, eat and behave is not different much from students of urban areas. Huge progress has been made; there are free kindergartens everywhere in the village. Working at college, I can see the support of the CPC and government to Xinjiang’s education cause. Except scholarships, students from poverty-stricken families can receive special stipends; under the assistance of local policies and educational institutions, financial aid is provided to the students, so that they can finish higher education and step into the society, contributing stable social development of Xinjiang. During my work at college, the college CPC branch provides me many opportunities to improve my professional qualifications, making me an academic supervisor for graduate students. During my work and life in higher education, teachers of all ethnic groups get along with each other well in unity and harmony; they treat all the students equally, making joint efforts for development of Xinjiang’s education cause.
Pompeo! You kept talking about human rights and policies, but ignored the changes in Xinjiang. I want to tell you that if you play low-down trick again, it can only expose your immorality; if you show off your ignorance, you will be ridiculed by the whole world.
