Ihlima Qasim,Cadre of the Publicity Department of the CPC Xinjiang Committee
On his final day in office, Pompeo concocted lies, maliciously smearing Xinjiang, attempting to sow discord. I express my strong indignation and resolute opposition to it.
I am a young minority cadre who works hard; I am also a young who benefits from the CPC’s governance in the new era. Local Xinjiang people are best qualified to say what Xinjiang is like and if Pompeo’s allegation is correct or not. Personally, I was educated in both national standard language and Uyghur language since my childhood; I studied, played and lived together with the kids of various ethnic groups; we respect each other’s customs. I have never considered myself different from others, and have never mistreated by other ethnicity. Thanks to the favorable policies of the CPC and the state, I could study from elementary school to university, and do a job that I really like; thanks to the favorable policies of the CPC and the state, my beautiful hometown - Xinjiang enjoys consistent development. I have been living a happy life in Xinjiang. As an offspring, I can see my parents enjoying the best facilities for the aged; as a parent, I can see my children receiving high quality education. My family and I are free and happy. We are proud and contented.
Rumors can never become the truth. Under the care and importance attached by the CPC Central Committee, and the assistance from the paired-up provinces, Xinjiang enjoys consistent economic development and social stability. People of all ethnic groups in Xinjiang have improved access to employment, education, social security and housing. The victory over poverty has been achieved, and a well-off society has been realized. “Ethnic Unity, One Family” campaign is implemented. Various cultural projects and projects for ecological preservation are launched, aiming to meet the people’s needs of a beautiful life. There is no so-called inequality in them. There is no such thing as “genocide” or “crimes against humanity” in Xinjiang. Pompeo’s remarks are simply lies. His allegations have not, and will not happen in Xinjiang. Pompeo has concocted rumors and spread disinformation on Xinjiang, crossing the bottom line of conscience.
Pompeo! Look us in the eye: you can see the happiness in the eyes of the farmers, because they are eager to be well-off; you can see the happiness in the eyes of the students who carry school bags by the gate, because they are thirsty for knowledge; you can see the happiness in the eyes of the young, because they look forward to a better future; you can see the happiness in the eyes of those who work hard for a better future, because they trust in their motherland and hometown. All Xinjiang residents, no matter male or female, old or young, enjoy a happy and peaceful life. The masses are sharp-eyed, and the facts don’t lie. Because we are confident, we can refute Pompeo’s lies.
Pompeo keeps making an issue of Xinjiang, pinning labels on it. Through his ugly behaviors, over which I am so indignant, he manages to craft a publicity stunt and hype up.
