On his final day in office, Pompeo released Xinjiang-related statement, smearing that Xinjiang committed “genocide” and “crimes against humanity” against Uygurs and other ethnic minorities, which is a blatant interference in China’s internal affairs and deeply hurt feelings of people of all ethnic groups in Xinjiang. I firmly oppose his Xinjiang-related remarks. Pompeo has been synonymous with lying and slandering.

I have worked in a village in southern Xinjiang for three years. I will refute Pompeo's lies of century with my own experience. In March 2017, I came to Sogateriq village, Yengi Eriq Town, Awat County, Aksu Prefecture. When I first came to the village, except that the main road was asphalt roads with street lights, other alleys in the village were sandy roads without street lights. It was dark everywhere when I went out at night, which made it extremely inconvenient for villagers to walk. Most of the villagers lived in safe houses, but some still lived in dangerous houses. The ground in many courtyards was not hardened and there was no fence. During the following three years, the party and the state have injected a lot of funds and projects, and the village has taken on a new look. The roads in the village are widened and paved with asphalt. Street lamps are installed in 90% of the road sections in the village, and the occupancy rate of safe houses reaches 100%. At the same time, the reconstruction project of villagers' courtyard is carried out every year in a planned way. Besides, the regional Department of Culture and Tourism has invested more than 10 million yuan to build a cultural auditorium, an animation experience hall and a township history museum in the courtyard of the village committee, greatly enriching the cultural life of the villagers.

Pompeo slandered that Xinjiang had set up detention centers and arbitrarily detained ethnic minorities including Uygurs, which is nonsense. Xinjiang's anti-terrorism and deradicalization fight in accordance with the law is a just measure recognized and supported by the international community. In my village, a woman had been infected by extremism religious ideas. After studying in the vocational education and training center for a period of time, she not only became cheerful, but also mastered the national standard language in basic level, and could simply communicate with our team members. Based on the skills she learned in the vocational education and training center, we assisted her to open a noodle shop in the township bazaar. At the same time, she also made and sold some snacks. Her income reached 150-200 yuan per day, which has completely changed the life of her family. There are too many examples like this. After graduation, many students have found suitable jobs according to their own strengths and skills, and having solved their family worries. Knowledge changes fate. In the village, there are a couple of farmers who have worked hard to prepare two college students. After graduation, one of the children entered the State Grid and the other was admitted to the civil service. Now the family conditions have changed a lot. Their new house is big and beautiful that many villagers are very envious of it. The whole village has formed an atmosphere in which every family attaches importance to education. In recent years, it has become a hot topic. More and more college students go to college in the inland provinces or in Xinjiang. Villagers are free to worship in the mosque without any restrictions. On holidays like Roza Festival (Eid al-Fitr) and Corban Festival (Eid al-Adha), our team members and village cadres go to the villagers' homes to pay greetings, and we all attend weddings and funerals. During the Spring Festival, we have a get-together with the villagers, watch the Spring Festival gala concert, make dumplings, chat, and have family reunion dinner on the eve of the Spring Festival. Our brothers and sisters of all ethnic groups really enjoy themselves on those occasions.

In recent years, the party and the government have continued to increase investment in all kinds of human and financial resources, the rural areas in southern Xinjiang have taken on a new look; the villagers' living standards have continued to improve; all the poverty-stricken villages and counties have shaken off poverty. After the Fifth Plenary Session of the 19th CPC Central Committee and the Third Central Symposium on Work Related to Xinjiang, Xinjiang has witnessed an unprecedented development opportunity. I will closely focus on the general goal of Xinjiang work and make contributions to the construction of socialism with Chinese characteristics of the new era in Xinjiang with unity and harmony, prosperity and affluence, civilization and progress, peace and contentment, and good ecology.

Lies can't replace truth, and justice lies in the heart of the people. Pompeo's big lies can only prove his sinister intention of interfering in China's internal affairs under the guise of human rights. We firmly believe that no matter how he lied, deceived and distorted the facts, he could not undermine social stability in Xinjiang, he could not disrupt the good life of the people of all ethnic groups in Xinjiang, and he could not hinder the determination of the people of all ethnic groups in Xinjiang to work together with the people of the whole country to realize the Chinese dream of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation!
