Disregarding the facts, Pompeo maliciously attacked China. Recently, he smeared that Xinjiang restricted ethnic minorities’ freedom of speech and travel. As a native Uygur cadre, I can’t put up with that. I would like to refute his political lies and expose his hideous features by my own experience and objective facts.

I am Osmanjan Omar, a journalist of Xinjiang Radio Television Station. Yecheng County, Kashgar Prefecture, where I was born, was once a key county for national poverty alleviation. In the past five years, from the central government to the local government, governments at all levels have invested billions of yuan to implement hundreds of poverty alleviation projects in Yecheng County, developing agriculture with walnut as the main part, and 300 thousand people have steadily increased their income through walnut planting, management and protection, processing and sales; pigeons husbandry has been developed with ten million pigeons being raised; an industrial mechanism of poverty relief has been set up, according to which there is a leading enterprise in the county, bases in the township and cooperatives in the village; through the involvement of the industry, leading enterprise and other projects, we can achieve the goal of "everyone should have a job and monthly income". In 2020, the per capita net income of rural residents in Yecheng county exceeded ten thousand RMB yuan, and people of all ethnic groups have gained a full sense of gain, happiness and security. Yecheng County, my hometown, has achieved "a well-off society in an all-round way" in the decisive battle of poverty alleviation.

The development of my hometown Yecheng County, to some extent, reflects the good situation of social stability and the happy life of the people in Xinjiang. However, Pompeo, who was used to "lying, cheating and stealing", couldn't see and didn't want to see.

The Chinese government has always attached great importance to the protection and promotion of human rights. It has always adhered to the people first principle, the system of regional ethnic autonomy, the equality of all ethnic groups, having protected all rights and freedoms enjoyed by Chinese citizens in accordance with the law. Nowadays, all undertakings in Xinjiang are booming. People of all ethnic groups hold together like pomegranate seeds. All people enjoy basic human rights, including free compulsory education, free physical examination, basic medical insurance and free choice of occupation. This is the real Xinjiang, this is the life we want!

Pompeo turned a blind eye to the fact that Xinjiang has been safeguarding human rights, improving people's livelihood, and promoting unity and social progress for many years. Pompeo! All your slanders, smears and suppression are futile and will surely fail!
