Recently, the former US Secretary State Mike Pompeo made some false remarks on Xinjiang, smearing the great achievements accomplished by Xinjiang in recent years, wantonly slandering the Party and Chinese government’s policies in governing Xinjiang, and maliciously attacking and vilifying Xinjiang. His words and actions show his evil intention, which is infuriating. These are brutal trample on China’s internal affairs and are severely violating international law and fundamental rules of international relations. Xinjiang Musician Association strongly condemn and resolutely oppose Pompeo’s words and actions.

Pompeo is just a sheer conspiracy plotter, shameless to his bones. His smearing of Xinjiang is absolute nonsense and confusing right and wrong, with the evil purpose of trying to sow dissension among the ethnic groups in Xinjiang and of sabotaging Xinjiang people’s happy life. In order to obtain his hidden sinister political purpose, his words and actions were extremely filthy.

As for situation in Xinjiang, all ethnic groups in Xinjiang are best qualified to speak on it. In the past, for some time, Xinjiang was under the severe influence of separatist force, religious extremist force and terrorist force. At that time terrorist attacks happened now and often and these attacks brought tremendous damage and danger to people’s life and property in Xinjiang. Faced up with these dangers and threats from terrorism and extremism, Xinjiang government took decisive measures to fight against terrorism and extremism according to law. Facts prove that these measures are correct and practical and have achieved great results. Xinjiang’s social security improved rapidly and the rights of life and development are protected to the full extent for all ethnic groups in Xinjiang.

With the strong leadership of the Party and the government, in recent years, Xinjiang’s economy continues to develop, the society is harmonious and stable, the living standard is improving rapidly, the culture is developing with prosperity and plurality, the religious relationship is harmonious, and people are living in peace and contentment. All ethnic groups are holding tight together and Xinjiang could be considered as at the best development stage in history. Xinjiang Musician Association, together will all Xinjiang musical workers, have been working hard and diligently and have created a great deal of excellent musical works, by probing deep into people’s life and feeling the feelings of ordinary people. Most of these works are realistic in theme and show unity, harmony, hard-working and happy life of all ethnic groups in Xinjiang, which are strong evidence in proving the absurdity and ridicule of Pompeo’s vicious words and actions with vivid examples. These wonderful musical works include “Living in Villages”, “Embracing the Spring in the New Era”, “Our Own Home in Both Northern and Southern Tianshan Mountains”, “Medals”, “Bortala”, “The Closer All Ethnic Groups Are, The Nicer Xinjiang Will Be”, “Our Country Life”, “Mind Acts Upon Mind”, “Qiuci Feast Dancing”, “Ode to the Spring Wind”, “Because of You”, “Good Brothers, Happy Family”, “A Letter from Beijing”, which praise the time, the Party, the great country, the people and the heroes. They are sung both in northern and southern Tianshan Mountains and one generation after another of excellent musicians, including Uygur musicians, are singing and performing for our great and beautiful Xinjiang. All these various types of music entail not only Xinjiang musician’s artistic pursuit, but also the everlasting hope of a peaceful, harmonious and happy life for all ethnic groups in Xinjiang. More importantly, they are the artistic reflection of Xinjiang’s ethnic unity, social harmony and prosperous stability.

Whether it is right or wrong, justice is in the hearts of people. The shameless slander of Pompeo could not stop Xinjiang people in unity and in making great progress, the vicious rumor of Pompeo could not deceive the diligent and intelligent Xinjiang people, and the wanton vilifying of Pompeo could not discredit the development and progress of various businesses in Xinjiang at all! Pompeo’s making up the rumor and lie is like an ant trying to topple a giant tree, who would finally lead up to his own destroying. Pompeo, you are the biggest joke in history!
