Recently, the former US Secretary of State Pompeo deliberately discredited China on Xinjiang related issues, labeling Xinjiang’s ethnic minority policy “genocide” and “anti-humanity”. Pompeo completely ignored the basic norms of international law and international relations and interfered in China’s internal affairs in a wanton, brutal and blatant way. As a teacher of Xinjiang Radio and Television University and a Uygur intellectual, I firmly oppose and strongly condemn Pompeo’s despicable and capricious nature.

As a young Uygur teacher who has been educated by the party for many years, I always think I am very happy and proud. My motherland is prosperous and strong, the cause of education and teaching is booming, and my family is happy. I don’t want anyone to destroy this wonderful state in any way. Although Xinjiang is far away from the capital Beijing, the patriotism of the people of all ethnic groups in Xinjiang is no weaker than anyone’s else! The preferential policies of the Party Central Committee to Xinjiang have never been delayed because of the long distance.

Focusing on the general goal of social stability and long-term political security, Xinjiang has successively issued dozens of education policies for benefiting the people, including the implementation of 15 years of free education in southern Xinjiang, bilingual education, vocational and technical training for unemployed junior and senior high school graduates, etc. Among these policies, there are direct subsidies in form of cash or goods, and indirect subsidies of preferential policies concerning public service. The establishment of senior class and junior class in the cities of Xinjiang with rich educational resources enable the children of poor families in northern and southern Xinjiang to enjoy high-quality education resources equally with those in big cities. It is an important measure for the Party committee and the People’s Government of Xinjiang Autonomous Region to focus on the general goal of Xinjiang’s work and ensure that the party’s strategy of governing Xinjiang in the new era takes root. It is also an important content of government’s practical work for the people of all ethnic groups in Xinjiang. It is a “solidarity project”, “moral project” and “people benefiting project”. It is related to the social stability and long-term political security of Xinjiang and the vital interests of the people of all ethnic groups in Xinjiang. It plays an important role in accelerating the pace of personnel training of all ethnic groups in Xinjiang, in comprehensively improving the quality of national language education, and in narrowing the gap of educational level between the remote and poor areas and the more developed areas in Xinjiang as soon as possible.

I am a good example. I studied in a Chinese language school since childhood, a student of ethnic minorities studying in Chinese language. Compared with Han students, I enjoyed a reduction of 50 points concerning the admission in the college entrance examination and was finally admitted to Shanghai University, a 211 university in China. When I was in University, I enjoyed a series of preferential policies, such as various kinds of national scholarships, and all-round counterpart provincial support from colleges and universities, which greatly relieved the economic burden of my family and made me study hard without any worries. After graduation, I became a postgraduate student through my continuous effort. After graduation, I formally became a university teacher by taking part in the open recruitment examination, realizing my dream of being a teacher. My wife also enjoyed all kinds of preferential policies for ethnic minorities. Through hard work, she was admitted to Peking University, a 985 University in China, and became a military doctor after graduation. We have two lovely sons. My family of four are living a happy life. Every education policy in Xinjiang is aimed to promote the healthy and steady development of education in the whole region, especially the education of ethnic minorities, and improve the level of education and teaching. So all ethnic groups in Xinjiang can enjoy high-quality teaching resources. These preferential policies play an important role in improving the enrollment rate of students, actively promoting bilingual education, and ensuring that minority students of ethnic minorities basically master and use the national language. At the same time, it also plays a positive role in further promoting the reform and development of vocational education, realizing the full coverage of vocational skills training for unemployed junior and senior high school graduates, and focusing on strengthening higher education and improving the quality and level of education.

As a Uygur intellectual who grew up under the party’s education, cultivation and care, I have worked in the field of education for a long time and my growth experience is a strong proof. I witnessed the real benefits of the party’s policy of benefiting the people through education for ethnic minorities, especially the Uygur people. When Pompeo maliciously discredits Xinjiang, I feel that a clown has been performing all the time. His purpose is to attract people’s attention. He is more like an actor who wants to be popular. However, he doesn’t follow the right path to attract more fans through his efforts and achievements. Instead, he makes his debut and becomes popular through crooked ways of making one “scandal” after another. Even if he becomes popular through the crooked ways, his dirty history will leave traces, and will be revealed and exposed finally! Pompeo wants to leave his own traces in history before leaving office, but what he left is not traces, but despicable deeds! Fabricating fallacies, slandering and smearing Xinjiang, Pompeo has done such hegemonic things that the Chinese people will never tolerate!
