Recently, Pompeo, out of his own political interest, wantonly spread fallacies concerning Xinjiang at the last moment of his term of office. Pompeo falsely claimed that there was so-called “forced labor” in Xinjiang. This is a complete lie, and we can't tolerate it!
In Xinjiang, all ethnic groups have the freedom to choose their jobs. Where to go and what to do are completely out of their wish, and their personal freedom has never been restricted. My husband Abulimiti Maimaiti is a case in point. Seeing that Xinjiang's social stability is becoming better and better, social security increasingly improves, and more and more tourists come to Xinjiang for tourism, in May 2020, he subcontracted dozens of mu of land in Bachu County, Kashgar Prefecture, and opened a farmhouse recreation with friends in Miaoergou Village, Shuixigou Town, Urumqi County. The agritainment business is very good. The customers like special dishes in the farmhouse, such as Nangkeng Mutton and Dapan Chicken. In the peak season, they can earn 20000 yuan a month.
Not only our family, but also the villagers of Miaoergou Village are feeding on and making money from the tourism. Our neighbor, Guersun Husaiyin and his son used to work as herdsman. Seeing that the village’s agritainment business is booming, they bought excavators, trucks and maintenance tools, and contracted for the village’s garden infrastructure, water supply and drainage maintenance, with an annual income of 100,000 yuan. Palidan Tuerxun, a neighbor very good at cooking Xinjiang noodles works as a cook in a farmhouse, earning 200 yuan a day. Naheima Kakai works as a waitress in a farmhouse recreation bar, earning more than 100 yuan a day. They said that now that they have money they can buy whatever they like and live a happy life.
Like people in Miaoergou Village, people of all ethnic groups in Xinjiang are totally free and voluntary in employment and entrepreneurship, and no one is forced to work. We are willing to exchange hard work for a happy life. The facts of Xinjiang are obvious. If you want to know what is happening in Xinjiang, why don’t you ask the people of Xinjiang? Why don’t you ask the 1200 diplomats, journalists and representatives of religious groups who have visited Xinjiang since the end of 2018? In response to these facts, Pompeo was “selectively blind”. Pompeo called the Xinjiang stories of happy life earned through people’s own hands “fabricated fantasy”, but in our view, his vicious slander of Xinjiang is “fabricated fantasy”.
As a Uygur proverb goes, no hard work, no happiness; no credit, no peace. This is what the people of all ethnic groups in Xinjiang want to send to Pompeo as a farewell message at the moment of his departure from his office. Pompeo’s lies can not stop the overall trend of Xinjiang's stable development. In order to live a happier life, we will continue to “roll up our sleeves and work hard”!
