Pompeo Should Not Be Allowed to Confuse the Right and the Wrong and Discredit Xinjiang

Dilidaer Yimiti, Xinjiang Radio and Television Station

Pompeio, upon the moment of his departure from his post, once again attacked and discredited China. He fabricated false information, wantonly spreading fallacies related to Xinjiang, concocted “human rights issues” in Xinjiang, and falsely accused Xinjiang of committing “anti-humanity” and “genocide” crime against the Uygur and other ethnic and religious minorities. This is a malicious insult to the people of all ethnic groups in Xinjiang, which is extremely evil in nature and sinister in intentions. I am a Uygur woman. As a native of Xinjiang, I strongly condemn and firmly oppose it. As a beneficiary of the national minority policy, I have the final say.

I used to be an undergraduate student in Nanjing Hehai University. There were four Uygur Students in my class. The others are students of all ethnic groups from all over the country. In the four years of university life, teachers and students were as close as a family. In our life and study, we showed care to each other, studied together, and made progress together, having forged a deep friendship among us. This kind of I can still feel the warmth of the friendship now. I remember that when I first went to university, there was a Uygur girl from rural areas in Aksu. She studied very hard, but because of the poor financial conditions of her family, she encountered some difficulties in her life. After learning her situation, the teacher helped her solve the difficulties through the subsidy policy for Xinjiang poverty-stricken students in inland colleges and universities, and introduced some campus employment programs to her. In this way, my roommate successfully completed her study and returned to her hometown Aksu Prefecture after graduation and became one of the backbone employees in her working department.

There are also many students around me like her who have received higher education with the help of national policies and are exerting their talents in all walks of life. For a long time, the Chinese government has invested a lot of human, financial and material resources to support and train minority students. As Uygur female, we can freely receive education and live according to our own wishes. Excuse me, Pompeo, where does your fallacy come from? Here I can tell you seriously that your groundless fallacy is totally inconsistent with my personal experience and the real life of Xinjiang people.

As a journalist, I have been to all the places around Tianshan Mountains every year to interview various people. After 20 years of journalism work, I have witnessed great changes and rapid development in Xinjiang. During a visit to Hetian two years ago, while I was shopping in a small shop I started a chat with a young women in the shop out of curiosity. She said that in the past, because of the influence of extreme thoughts, her husband did not allow her go out or associate with anyone, and her life was very difficult. Later, her husband learned automobile maintenance skills in the vocational education and training center and then he opened a auto-repair shop. After his mind was changed with the help of vocational education and training center, he also supported his wife to open a shop. The village helped them, and their life became more and more prosperous. Finally, with tears in her eyes, she said to me that in any case, she should provide the two children with good schooling and try her best to help them learn more knowledge so that they can live a good life in the future.

In the past, some Uygur women went astray under the influence of extremism. The party and the government helped them out of the darkness and gave them hope of life again. Now their mental outlook has changed greatly. Many rural women have learned professional skills. They went out of their home, set foot on the road to a wealthy life head for their truly happy life. Xinjiang protects the rights of women of ethnic minorities according to law, trying every means to create employment opportunities for them, encourages, helps and supports them to have a well-off life through their own work. Pompeo, How can you blame Xinjiang? Shame on you! It rather demonstrates your ugly nature.

Now, Xinjiang is in its best period in history. People live and work in peace and contentment and enjoy the dividends brought by social stability. However, Pompeo, out of ulterior motives, smears Xinjiang with all kinds of lies. He doesn’t have any moral principle, and is shameless and despicable. I would like to say that only the people of all ethnic groups in Xinjiang have the final say about Xinjiang and that no one is allowed to slander Xinjiang!
