Firmly Opposing Pompeo’s Interference in Xinjiang Affairs

Abudusalamu Aersilang, Xinjiang Radio and television station cadre

Recently, Pompeo published a fallacy concerning Xinjiang, saying that Xinjiang’s policies towards Uygur Muslims and other ethnic minorities constitute “anti-humanity” crime and “genocide”. As an ordinary Uygur in Xinjiang, I strongly denounce and firmly oppose the fallacies fabricated by Pompeo. Xinjiang related issues are not the issues of human rights and ethnic and religious issues at all, but the issues of anti-violence and anti-disruption.

As a TV journalist, in 2012, I worked for a short period of time in Qilangbage village, Yingxiaxiang Township, Korla City, Bayinguoleng Mongolian Autonomous Prefecture. In 2020, when I went to make a documentary there, I couldn’t find the place where I used to work. I asked my old friend where the village is. My friend pointed to a very beautiful residential area. I contacted the village head at that time. He lived in a high building with an elevator, and his life changed completely.

In 2018, I participated in the village work of “Investigating, Benefiting and Solidarizing” program in Xinjiang. What impressed me most deeply was the villagers’ desire to get a well-off life. The villagers asked us on their initiative to help them to get an employment. They worked in Xinjiang or other provinces and their pocket got bulged with money. For those villagers who are really in difficulties and couldn’t go out to work, we encourage them to work with their own hands to get a well-off life by taking advantage of their specialties. There is no such thing as “forced labor” fabricated by Pompeo! Pompeo often releases wanton remarks and his purpose is to undermine the stability of Xinjiang.

During my stay in the village, the work team worked hard to implement the people benefiting policy of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, such as the courtyard reconstruction subsidy, education subsidy, medical subsidy, living subsidy and employment subsidy. When villagers got seriously sick, our team members helped to contact the best hospitals in Urumqi for treatment. They also helped villagers to participate in co-ops and open shops. They worked to provide various aids in order that the villagers can get rid of poverty and get a well-off life. As a team member, although my work is full of difficulties, I am very proud that I have experienced all this.

In 2020, after returning from the village work of “Investigating, Benefiting and Solidarizing”, I participated in the documentary shooting of poverty alleviation in Xinjiang. During the period of more than one month, from Hotan to Kashgar and Aksu, I filmed many villages in more than ten counties in southern Xinjiang, and collected many touching stories. During the interview in Keketikan village, Kumukusaer Township, Maigaiti County, Kashgar Prefecture, a villager held the hand of first secretary tightly, saying in tears, “the Secretary Kong is the benefactor of our family.” Later, I learned that the villager’s name is Patamuhan. Her husband died and one of her daughters was disabled. During her husband sickness, Kong often visited her family and gave her a lot help. After her husband died, Kong was very concerned about her daughter’s condition, helped them to arrange treatment for her daughter in hospitals and solve their life difficulties. This is a true story of Xinjiang. The Kirgiz herdsmen in the mountains of Akto County moved out of mountain and settled themselves in buildings. They are planting rice on the Gobi desert. The common people know that they will have a happy life by following the right path of the party and the government. Now Xinjiang is full of gratitude, harmony and love.

Facts speak louder than words, lies cannot cover the truth, and justice lies in the hearts of people. Pompeo’s so-called “statement” is full of fallacies, which exposes his sinister intention of undermining the social stability of Xinjiang, hindering the development of Xinjiang, and misleading international opinion. Pompeo is a big liar!
