　　Before leaving office, Mike Pompeo maliciously attacked and smeared Xinjiang, ignoring facts and confounding right and wrong, which, once again, revealed his evil purpose.

　　Pompeo falsely claimed that Chinese government has “forced” Uygur and other ethnic minorities in Xinjiang to “labor”, which is absolutely nonsense. His defaming and vilifying of vocational education and training centers in Xinjiang is totally groundless. His vicious remarks on religious affair in Xinjiang are evilly aimed at instigating tension among ethnic groups. Pompeo purposefully ignored the facts and relied on lies and rumors, which not only shows his disdaining character, but also his futile efforts in making up the so-called “Xinjiang issue” by smearing and attacking China.

　　Whether Xinjiang is in good situation or otherwise, Xinjiang people are best qualified to speak on it. The fact that Xinjiang is stable and peaceful fully proves that Pompeo is absolutely wrong. Pompeo used various means to defame and slander vocational education and training centers in Xinjiang and his evil purpose is to try to deny the great efforts Xinjiang has taken on fighting against terrorism and extremism and to deny the great achievement of human rights accomplished by Xinjiang people. Whether the vocational education and training center is good or otherwise, the person who has been in it or the person who knows it so well is the best qualified to speak on it. From some people who have been in it, I heard most often the words “the vocational education and training center saved and helped me”. The truth is that the vocational education and training center is an institution to save and help. The learners study national language, laws and rules and professional skills. By education, they improve their communication skills in national standard language, enhance their awareness of law and rules and eliminate thoughts of religious extremism from the root. They learn various professional skills and finally find jobs which suit them. They are having a happy life now with peace and contentment and they are full of gratitude to the Party and government.

　　I was born and raised up in Xinjiang. In 1995, after graduation of college I began to work at Xinhua Bookstore in Toutunhe, Urumqi. In my work the senior officers cared for me and I and my colleagues worked closely, learning and helping each other. With the care from the Party and with my hard working, soon I was promoted to be the vice-manager of the bookshop. With the care from the Party and government, all children and young people have free textbooks from primary school to senior middle school. All students enjoy 9 years of free compulsory education. Especially in southern Xinjiang, there is the 15-year free compulsory education. The language and culture of ethnic minority groups are well paid attention to, preserved and inherited. Chinese government has been spending much effort in saving and preserving ethnic cultural heritage, either on policy or on expenditure. Publishing business of ethnic groups is highly regarded by the government and all excellent ethnic cultures are spreading and influencing the world with the Chinese characteristics.

　　As a part of the great Chinese nation, I am so proud of Xinjiang’s development and progress and I am so indignant of Pompeo’s words and actions. The brilliant picture of Xinjiang today, with its stability and prosperity, could never be smeared by such clown as Pompeo. All ethnic groups in Xinjiang are holding tight together, like the seeds in a pomegranate, working diligently and making great progress together. Xinjiang’s tomorrow is surely to be better and better!
