Wahafu Maiming, Secretary of the Party committee of Xinjiang Mining Secondary Vocational School
Xinjiang has raised me and raised all ethnic compatriots living on this land. Xinjiang is an integral part of China and has been inhabited by many ethnic groups since ancient times. Recently, some shameless politicians in the United States, such as Pompeo, wantonly attacked and slandered Xinjiang’s work and seriously interfered in our country’s internal affairs. As an intellectual of ethnic minorities, I will never allow this behavior and resolutely oppose it. I also solemnly warn Pompeo that any plot to disrupt Xinjiang will be a failure, and can not change the overall social stability in Xinjiang. Any conspiracy to destroy Xinjiang will never succeed and our pace of progress will be firmer.
My name is Wahafu Maiming. I am a Uygur, a party member. I was born in an ordinary family and grew up in Xinjiang. I am currently an educator. Since I was a child, I have witnessed the happy life of the people of all ethnic groups in Xinjiang and felt the enthusiasm from the mutual help of the people of all ethnic groups in Xinjiang. I have a happy life here. I have classmates, colleagues, neighbors and friends of all ethnic groups. We learn, grow and live together. Before I was 15 years old, my national language level was not good. In order to communicate with other children naturally, I learned national language with my Han friends every day, and they taught me patiently. In the process of helping each other, we have deepened our friendship and enhanced mutual trust. I have grateful feelings for my good friends.
In my own experience of growing up, I have always felt a relaxed and just social atmosphere from childhood to adulthood. What I have felt is that regardless of ethnic group, everyone enjoys the same opportunities, and everyone can have the opportunity to create happiness for themselves. There are two children in my family who have studied in bilingual schools since childhood and have enjoyed a lot of people benefiting policies. In particular, students of all ethnic groups learn from each other and help each other, learning, playing and growing up together in schools as a family.
Now I am the Secretary of the Party committee of a secondary vocational school. In addition to my two children, I have thousands of lovely and progressive children in my school. It is my greatest happiness to accompany them and grow up together with them. At present, there are more than 3000 students in the two campuses of our college, and there are more than 30 specialties. Due to the particularity of our college’s students, the number of the students’ of ethnic minorities in our college accounts for more than 94% of the total number of students. With the strong support and help of the central government and Xinjiang government, our college has been enjoying very good educational and teaching resources and the rate of double-certificate teachers of our college has reached 95%. There are 21 experimental and training rooms with more than 960 training machines for coal majors and coal-powered electricity majors. We have also established more than 10 training bases with Shenhua Company and other coal enterprises. Our college is equipped with teaching facilities with advanced function and various types, which provides advanced and convenient practice conditions for students. All these are inseparable from the care of the party.
Students from poor families enjoy the preferential policy of free tuition, which not only reduces the financial burden of many families, but also encourages students to study harder to repay the state and government in the future. Our college also has a competition award system to encourage students to learn techniques and skills well, participate in competitions more, and earn scholarships through their own efforts. In order to enrich students’ campus life, our college has also carried out a large number of traditional cultural activities of ethnic minorities and activities of “ethnic unity” in the form of class pairing, art parties and interest groups, which has effectively promoted the inheritance and development of ethnic language and culture of ethnic minorities, greatly deepened the emotional affinities among students of ethnic groups, and significantly improved the construction of campus culture.
I still remember that in recent years, when I visited the students’ homes in southern Xinjiang, I always heard such talk from the students’ parents: The party’s policy is so good. It not only guarantees our basic life, but also provides children with opportunities to learn knowledge. What we parents request is that our children study hard to repay and serve our motherland. It can be seen that the party’s educational policy has won the support and popularity from the people. At these words, I am deeply moved and really proud of my thousands of children at school. We eat and live together, help each other, and work together for a better life. I have witnessed and felt these happy scenes with my own eyes.
These are my own experiences. I’ve seen them with my own eyes. I would like to say that in Xinjiang, besides the wonderful land as beautiful as a fairyland, sweet and delicious fruits, and delicious food, there are also people of all ethnic groups in Xinjiang who are united, friendly and hospitable. I believe that “I love Xinjiang and I’m proud of Xinjiang” is the voice of every Xinjiang person. I hope that Pompeo can hear it clearly and give up his fantasy of destroying our good life.
