Muyasaier Tuohuti, Dean of the Colleg of Drama and Film, Xinjiang Art University
Pompeo’s fallacy about Xinjiang is pure nonsense. My own growth experience and the development of Xinjiang drama education are the best examples.
As an Uygur official and intellectual who was born, grew up and have been working in Xinjiang, I deeply love this beautiful land of Xinjiang. Looking back at my growth experience, every step of my life is inseparable from the concern and cultivation of the party. I was born in Lop County, Xinjiang, and my father is a policeman. With the care of the party and the government and the strict education of my father, we five siblings went to university and have pursued their own ideal careers. Now they all live a happy life. I was admitted to Xinjiang Art University in 1984, majoring in drama. With my excellent academic performance, in 1988, I was selected to teach in my university. In 2003, I was sent to France to study for a master’s degree under the kind care and cultivation of the Party committee of the university. During my two years abroad, my yearning for my motherland was beyond my words. At that time, I was always thinking that I would return to the embrace of my motherland immediately after I finish my study. I would work harder, and use what I have learned to commit myself to the cause of higher art education, so as to express my gratitude to my motherland.
In recent years, I have been fortunate to participate in the shooting of many films and TV plays, such as “Uncle Kuerban Goes to Beijing", “A Xinjiang girl”, “Helan snow”, “The Past Stories of Muqam” and so on. By participating in the shooting of these films and TV works, I have not only improved my professional practice ability, but also strengthened my consciousness of “five identities”. When I participate in the activity of “Ethnic Unity”, I always bring many books and materials about learning the national language to my paired relatives, so that they can understand the importance of learning the national language. I gave full play to my own advantages, teaching them to communicate in national language, and take the improvement of their political awareness and the level of communication in national language. I took the initiative to help relatives develop the courtyard economy, improve their living conditions, actively organize the masses to speak up and publicize the party’s policy of benefiting the people to my paired relatives. I delegated the students and their relatives to eat, live and work together to deeply understand and feel the great changes that the party’s policy of benefiting the people has brought to the common people. The short piece “Peony Khan” adapted from a real event has been highly praised by the audience. Later, “Peony Khan” was made into a micro film to publicize the party’s policy of benefiting the people and poverty alleviation in a wider scope, and spread the socialist core values and positive energy.
Benefited from the party’s good policies, my son was admitted to Peiying high school in Jiangmen in 2012. After four years of abundant and unforgettable education, he was admitted to Shanghai Theatre Academy with excellent results, joined the Communist Party of China and became a probationary party member. Looking back on the experiences of myself and my relatives, I am full of endless gratitude to the party and the country. I deeply understand that on the road of my life, every point of our growth and progress is inseparable from the cultivation of the party and the state. I am grateful to the party. I love this wonderful land of China deeply. I have already closely linked everything I have with the cause of the party and the country.
I am a witness of China’s great new era, a witness of Xinjiang’s historic changes, and a beneficiary of the national policy of cultivating civil workers of ethnic minorities. As an intellectual growing up under the cultivation of the party, I have personally felt the great achievements of various social undertakings in Xinjiang, and witnessed the beautiful and good life today when all ethnic groups in Xinjiang unite as one and work together! Today’s Xinjiang is in its best period of prosperity and development in history with social stability, economic development, ethnic unity, people of all ethnic groups living and working in peace and contentment, and various undertakings flourishing. My personal experience is just one of the thousands of Xinjiang stories. This is the real Xinjiang! I am very proud of my great motherland! I feel extremely happy for myself to live in the new era of socialism with Chinese characteristics!
