Xinjiang Calligrapher Association

Recently, the former US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo made up a series of lies, viciously claiming that “Chinese government is forcing sterilization and labor towards Uygur people and other ethnic minority groups in Xinjiang”. He also made the groundless remark that “Chinese government is restricting freedom of speech in Uygur people” and he wantonly smeared and slandered human rights in Xinjiang. As for his malicious lies and rumors, Xinjiang Calligrapher Association express its strong condemnation and resolute opposition.

Chinese calligraphy art is long in history and unique in style. It is also an important part of socialist artistic cause and an outstanding treasure in traditional Chinese culture. With the leadership of Communist Party of China, the calligraphy art in Xinjiang develops rapidly and prosperously. Over the years, the association firmly holds the general goal of maintaining social stability and realizing long-term development, a goal set up by the central CPC committee for Xinjiang. In order to celebrate such events as the successful convening of the 19^th CPC conference, 40 year’s anniversary of Reform and Opening Up, 70 year’s anniversary of the founding of People’s Republic of China and so on, the association held various writing or demonstration activities in calligraphy with such themes as ethnic unity, poverty alleviation and village rejuvenation etc. With vivid brushes and features we write and paint the great progress of all Xinjiang people , record the outstanding events in the new era with beautiful and carefully-chosen words and fully carry out the association’s function in spreading knowledge with art and expressing emotion with calligraphy. The focus of our work in the association is on village and town, on young people and on new artistic calligrapher. Every year we organize activities in local villages and towns to express lives of ordinary people, to bring pleasure of calligraphy to villagers, to train local professional calligrapher to obtain better skills and to cultivate and understand traditional Chinese culture in a more profound way. A great many of professional calligraphers emerged and obtained their own achievements. Both in southern and northern Tianshan Mountains, Xinjiang calligraphers witnessed the social security, religious harmony, ethnic unity, beautiful landscapes and prosperous life in Xinjiang. All ethnic groups are helping and supporting each other. We are living in peace and contentment and we are holding our heads high on our way to socialist well-fare. The association and all calligraphers in Xinjiang are proudly telling the world: in today’s Xinjiang, the economy continues to develop better and better, the society is stable and harmonious, the living is improving all the time and the religion affair is in great harmony. All ethnic groups in Xinjiang are holding tight together like the seeds in a pomegranate and Xinjiang could be considered to be at its best development stage in history.

Facts speak louder than words, and justice is in the hearts of fair people. Pompeo’s evil purpose is to try to conceal the world by his lies, to instigate tension among ethnic groups in China, to sabotage Xinjiang’s stability, to hamper Xinjiang’s development and to mislead international public opinion, which thoroughly shows his vicious purpose of “fake concern, actual interference and intentional sabotage”. Pompeo’s words and actions will surely be swept into the garbage bin of history and the name Pompeo will be nailed on the disgrace pillar of history, being looked down upon by the people all over the world. Xinjiang Calligrapher Association and all Xinjiang calligraphers will make every effort in using their own hands and brushes to paint and write the beautiful and happy life here in Xinjiang. Together as an impeccable unity, we will use our own wisdom to make our own contribution to the building of a wonderful Xinjiang with Chinese characteristics in the new era, where the ethnic groups are in unity and harmony, the society is prosperous and wealthy, the civilization is developed, the living is peaceful and contented and the ecology is fabulous!
