The Xinjiang related statement issued by the former US Secretary of State Pompeo grossly interferes in China’s internal affairs, deliberately slandering the human rights situation in Xinjiang and wantonly discrediting the good situation in Xinjiang and the happy life of the people of all ethnic groups. Pompeo totally ignores the facts and confuses the right and wrong. His purpose is to destroy the stability of Xinjiang and obstruct the development of Xinjiang, and his intention is very sinister. As a native Uygur intellectual in Xinjiang, I strongly condemn and firmly oppose Pompeo’s evil behavior.
Any lie is a feeble existence before the facts. It is the same case withe Pompeo’s big lie about Xinjiang.
My name is Dilinar Maisimu. I was born in the beautiful “ City of Pear” - Korla, Xinjiang. I have witnessed the great changes in Xinjiang. Since the Eighteenth National Congress of the CPC, the Party Central Committee with Comrade Xi Jinping as the core has always attached great importance to the work of Xinjiang and showed the care to the people of all ethnic groups in Xinjiang. Great effort from central government has been devoted into Xinjiang which has spent most of its financial expenditure on ensuring and improving people’s livelihood for many years. It has continued to promote the projects of benefiting people, focusing on employment, education, medical care, social security and housing. A large number of livelihood problems involving the vital interests of the masses have been solved. Today Xinjiang is in the best period of prosperity and development in history.
As far as I’m concerned, I still remember that when I was a child, the farmers in my hometown lived in Adobe houses. In 2019, the government built earthquake resistant houses for my hometown. At the same time, the elderly over 60 years old in my hometown also received endowment insurance. I still remember that in the past, children could not afford to go to school, but now three years of pre-school education and 12 years of basic education have fully covered all the children. There are also a series of good policies, such as national health examination, nutrition improvement for rural students, state grants for senior high schools, and financial aid for Xinjiang students in inland universities. The sense of gain and happiness of people of all ethnic groups in Xinjiang is increasing. I still remember that it took me nearly 10 hours to get to Urumqi from Korla by train for the first time in 2005, but after the “Fuxing” high-speed rail was opened, it took only 3.5 hours, making it more convenient for people to travel. Now every village is connected with each other by the broad and flat to the asphalt road, and every village has its cultural center. In the evening, when the joyful music starts, people of all ethnic groups, the old and young dance in the joy of music, enjoying the happiness of life. As a native of Xinjiang, I feel very happy and very confident of a better life in the future.
Recently, I watched a documentary of eight series entitled “The Historical Mark of Xinjiang China”, and I have got a better understanding of the historical development process of Xinjiang. I have deeply realized that the development of Xinjiang is inseparable from the long-term care of the party and the government, the dedication of the revolutionists and pioneers of the older generation, the close unity and joint efforts of the people of all ethnic groups, and the stability and unity of Xinjiang. Only under the leadership of the Communist Party of China and in the embrace of the great family of the motherland can Xinjiang enjoy today’s prosperity and development. Looking forward, I believe that under the leadership of the Communist Party of China, Xinjiang will have a bright future!
