Tuerhun Emin, Xinjiang Art Theatre
My name is Tuerhun Emin, a Uyghur. I am national first-class performer, vice director of Xinjiang Art Theatre, director and deputy secretary of CPC committee of Opera Troupe of Xinjiang Art Theatre and vice chairman of Xinjiang Dramatists Association. Recently, Pompe’s Xinjiang-related remarks slandered China’s governance of Xinjiang regardless of facts. Born and growing up in Xinjiang, I strongly oppose and condemn what Pompeo said.
Born in a farmer’s family, thanks to the favorable policies of the Communist Party, since childhood, I have been provided with food and free education and grown up from the grass-root gradually. Whenever I am under the national flag and look at it risen higher and higher, I am overwhelmed with pride and gratitude. I am fully authentic to tell you whether people in Xinjiang live a good life or not.
I have been living in the big family of the Chinese nation and friends of all ethnic backgrounds have enjoyed friendship as closely as brothers and sisters wherever I have been, in the schools or at work. I have been impressed by the comfortable and fair social atmosphere and known that everyone has equal opportunity to create a beautiful future, no matter what ethnic group he or she belongs to. I have studied diligently and worked very hard. My efforts are well paid, I am recognized by my unit and my profession is respected. I am able to enjoy a rich and beautiful life with my hard work.
Pompeo’s absurd lies deliberately defame the human rights conditions of Xinjiang, slander China’s efforts in de-radicalization and combating terrorism and attack the Chinese government’s governance of Xinjiang to incite ethnic hatred and write off the fruits of development in Xinjiang. What he did intentionally disregards the true feelings of people of all ethnicity in Xinjiang and exposes once again his hegemonic ugliness and sinister plot. The development and conditions of human rights in XInjiang won’t allow vicious slander and smear by anyone. It is people of Xinjiang who are authentic to comment on social economic development in Xinjiang based on facts.
Since the 1990s, the three forces have created thousands of violent terrorist cases, which have brought about huge damage to people and done serious harm to our harmonious and tranquil life. Effective measures have been taken in Xinjiang to combat terrorism and religious extremism according to related laws. This is the result of full implementation of the UN’s action plan to prevent violent extremism and precaution measures taken based on law, which safeguards the security and stability of Xinjiang and its people’s lives effectively. Facts prove that these measures have corresponded to the real situations in Xinjiang, have been effective and have won the support of local people.
In February 2017, I participated in “Fang Hui Ju (a special program started by the government of Xinjiang in March 2014, aiming at ‘investigating people’s conditions, serving their interests and winning their hearts’ (in Chinese: 访惠聚)” working team. It enabled me to witness the dramatic changes in people’s lives and the social economy in south Xinjiang. During this period of time, my colleagues, relatives and I helped people of all ethnicity in south Xinjiang with poverty-elevation work. We united with villagers and worked hard. Thanks to the joint efforts of the local government and people of all ethnicity, the village and villagers have changed greatly and we have reaped friendship.
Without the Communist Party, there would not be the prosperity and development of Xinjiang and people’s happy life today. “Crime against humanity” and “genocide” are clearly defined in the international law. The so-called “crime against humanity” and “genocide” concerning Xinjiang are utterly false accusation and vicious farce worked out by Pompeo. They are part of Pompeo’s ugly political plot and have never occurred in Xinjiang, China. They will never occur in the future either.
I advise that Pompeo, the political clown remove your biased glasses and double standards, stop slandering and smearing Xinjiang with the so-called Xinjiang-related issues.
