Recently, Pompeo smeared the Chinese government by fabricating lies of the century, saying that it committed “genocide” and “anti-humanity crime” against the Uyghurs and other ethnic groups before leaving his office. What he did hurt people of all ethnicity in Xinjiang. He disregarded facts and slandered the Chinese government’s governance of Xinjiang with sinister intention to distort and smear Xinjiang’s efforts in combating terrorism and religious extremism, incite racial hatred among people of different ethnic groups and hinder the pace of great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation. People of all ethnicity in Xinjiang are most authentic in voicing what Xinjiang is like to the world.

People’s well-being is the utmost human rights. We are the clearest about whether we are living a happy life or not. Born and growing up in Xinjiang, I, a Uyghur journalist, have participated in, witnessed and benefited from the steady development of Xinjiang. Therefore, I strongly oppose to and condemn Pompeo’s groundless accusation and sinister slander.

Born in an intellectual family in Yining County, Ili Kazakh Prefecture, I grew up with my elder and younger sisters. Since our childhood, we followed our parents’ instructions and listened to my father’s account of his growth. He often tells us that his growth has been indispensable with the care and concern of the Communist Party and his growth is marked with his undergraduate years at Qinhua University, his return to Xinjiang to contribute to his homeland, and his rise from being an engineer to being the director of Bureau of Environmental Protection, Ili Kazakh Prefecture.My mother is the same as my father. Ever since she graduated from Xinjiang Medical University, she has been a doctor and very strict with her professional skills. Over the years, she has cured many a patient and shown her gratitude to our motherland and the Communist Party with her action. Thanks to the influence of my family, we three children have been gratefully to the Communist Party and our motherland at an early age and we have passed this on to our children too with persistence.

I want to speak with facts as I am a journalist. We feel very grateful to live in Xinjiang, China and have benefited from the various governmental policies in education, medical care and poverty elevation. In recent years, I have been operated for three times. As the operations are done in Xinjiang, it has not cost me much and my family has not worried about my medical expenses, which used to be very expensive. Now we are in the best times because the Communist Party and the country implements good policies.How can this fact be smeared by Pompeo’s lies?

When I was hospitalized, a patient from the rural area of Hotan, south Xinjiang told me that it was impossible in the past for a patient from where he was from to be treated in Urumqi and enjoy medical insurance. Now even new-borns have medical insurance and people no longer need to worry about seeing the doctor. I am a father of two children. My children have been provided with favorable policies including free physical examination and free compulsory education since they were born, during their kindergarten and school years.

Nowadays, the mother tongues and characters of ethnic groups have been widely used in daily life and fields such as jurisdiction, administration, press and publication and Internet in Xinjiang. At Xinjiang Radio and TV Station where I work, excellent programs are broadcast in five languages on a daily basis. People of all ethnicity fully enjoy their rights, such as right of life and right of development.

Xinjiang today is at the prime time in history marked with prosperity and development. People enjoy social stability, improving livelihood, harmony in religion and we embrace each other as closely as seeds of pomegranate. As this sight of harmony, solidarity, prosperity and development does not come easily, people of all ethnicity cherish and protect it dearly and won’t allow anyone, any force to interfere with it. I appeal to each and every of us in Xinjiang to be clear-minded to see Pompeo through and destroy his sinister political plot. I want to tell Pompeo: check the facts we’ve listed to counteract your fabrications and go reflecting on them.The development and progress of Xinjiang is unstoppable!
