Pompeo, Stop Spreading Rumors!

Rezwangul Abaike, Villager of Zeketai Village, Xinyuan County

When I heard Pompeo’s rumors about the so-called “forced labor” in Xinjiang, I laughed aloud. My name is Rezwangul Abaike, a 47-year-old Uygur woman working in a vegetable greenhouse growing green vegetables. I like this job very much. It is my own choice. Nobody forces me to do it.

Nowadays, with people’s livelihood improved, we pay much closer attention to health. More and more people have accepted the concept of green food. The supply of green vegetables in our greenhouse often falls short of demand. Due to the outbreak of the Covid-19 pandemic, many people stayed at home for some time. Village cadres and volunteers bought vegetables from our greenhouse and delivered them to these residents. While seeing those village cadres walking to and fro to handle some difficulties for the villagers, I am overwhelmed with love and warmth.

Our nation cares for people’s well-being and people of all ethnic groups are united closely as seeds of a pomegranate. In times of difficulty, with solidarity and resilience, we pulled together to write the epic of our fight against the pandemic. During the period of pandemic prevention and control, I volunteered to join the logistic support team. Being very good at making naans, I supplied 100 naans for the whole team. I felt very proud of doing something for our villagers during difficult times. The 56 ethnic groups of the Chinese nation are members of one big family. When encountering some difficulties, we should support each other and make mutual progress.

In this big family of multi ethnicities, I feel ethnic solidarity and amity in the neighborhood deeply. I often tell my daughter we should be grateful. Pompeo, never spread rumors any more. We use our own hands to shake off poverty and strive to be moderately prosperous. We are leading a very happy and carefree life.
