Recently, Pompeo made a fallacy concerning Xinjiang, falsely claiming that the Chinese government has committed “genocide” and “crimes against humanity” against the Uyghurs and other ethnic minorities. He disregarded and distorted facts, smeared China, and maliciously attacked the Central Committee of the Communist Party ’s governance of Xinjiang. As a native of Xinjiang, I firmly oppose and strongly condemn it.

I was born in an ordinary family in Karamay. My three brothers and sisters grew up under care of the Party. We have been playing, studying and living together with classmates and friends of all nationalities since childhood. During the Spring Festival and other holidays, we paid the New Year greetings to each other. In summer, we played mud together. In winter, we went skiing and had snowball fights together. If someone’s parents were busy with work, we were looked after by other children’s parents. We still keep in touch and maintain the friendship.

When I first joined the work, I encountered many difficulties. My colleagues of other ethnic groups in the unit took the initiative to teach me to learn the national standard Chinese language, and took the trouble to correct my pronunciation and typos. With their help, I have made great progress and made achievements.

Justice will prevail in people’s hearts. Taking the work of ex-servicemen in our city as an example, ex-servicemen of all ethnic groups have been enjoying the same preferential treatment policies. In 2020, 29% of the retired soldiers in our city are of ethnic backgrounds. Retired soldiers of all ethnic groups are resettled through special double election meetings and receiving one-time economic subsidies.

Karamay City also includes the disabled soldiers of Grade 6 and above into the medical security of employees, and the medical expenses are 100% reimbursed; for the disabled soldiers of Grade 7 to 10 and other preferential care objects who participate in the medical insurance, they are given an annual subsidy of 3,000 yuan per person, regardless of the race. The standard and the requirements are the same. At the same time, according to the same standard, the family preferential treatment fund for servicemen of all ethnic groups is issued to ensure that the legitimate rights and interests of servicemen of all ethnic groups are fully implemented.

Pompeo’s vicious attack on China will not deceive the world, smear China, change the fact of harmony and stability in Xinjiang, or shake the iron will and sonorous pace of the Chinese people to realize the great rejuvenation of the nation. Xinjiang is a part of China, and the Uyghurs are members of the Chinese family. Any attempt to incite China’s ethnic relations and curb China’s development is doomed to failure and will eventually become a laughing stock in history.
