Mike Pompeo, the former US secretary of state told his “Lie of the Century” on leaving his office recently, falsely charging Xinjiang to have committed “genocide” and “crimes against humanity” towards Uyghur Muslims and other ethnic minority groups. On retiring from his post, Pompeo acts like a rabid dog by attacking and slandering Xinjiang frenziedly, showing his ugliness as the “worst, rottest, and most shameless Secretary of State” once more. His doings not only contravene international justice and basic human value criteria but also breach human morality, justice and conscience. His so-called allegation, to me, is nothing but a hokum. This US politician, notorious for his lies and deception, turns himself into a clown and a joke of his own doomsday frenzy and lie of the century.

International laws have clear definitions of “crimes against humanity” and “genocide”. Pompeo’s so-called “genocide” and “crimes against humanity” are a deliberate false proposition and an absurd farce viciously intended to cause sensations. They only exist in Pompeo’s hideous political conspiracies and did not, are not, will not happen in China.

I was born in the 1970s in Ruoqiang County, Bayingolin Mongol Autonomous Prefecture. Thanks to the Communist Party and the government, I made my career and achievements by starting from the primary level after my graduation from Xinjiang Normal University. Same as people of all ethnic groups here, I have experienced earth-shaking changes in Xinjiang all these years. I remember I lived in a one-story house during childhood and our neighbors were people of different ethnic groups, such as Han and Hui. The neighbors have been living in unity and harmony. Every family extends a helping hand when one is in need. During the traditional Chinese festivals, such as the Spring Festival, Corban Festival, the Id al-Fitr, and the Mid-Autumn Festival, we celebrate together by eating and enjoying the holiday season without any estrangement. The university I went to is like a giant family where students and teachers of all ethnic groups got along well. Students of different ethnic groups, including Uyghur, Han, Kazakh, Mongolian, Hui, Kirgiz and many others, studied in the same university, who cared for the daily life of ethnic minority students a lot. This made me feel the warmth of our big multi-ethnic family. In return, we treated every schoolmate in a respectful and friendly manner, so we are still in contact with each other years after our graduation. This is the common situation in Xinjiang: every ethnic group is as close to each other as family members and we rely on each other without any possibility of persecution and bullying. World-shaking changes have taken place in Xinjiang: the economic and social developments as well as people’s livelihood have seen unprecedented improvements; both north and south Xinjiang are witnesses of such good situations of social stability, economic prosperity and people’s peaceful and contented life; people of all ethnic groups are experiencing a stronger sense of gain, happiness and security. Pompeo cannot stand our well-being, so he tries to provoke dissention with his despicable means in order to “contain China by provoking Xinjiang.” Such evil intention will never succeed because people in Xinjiang will never agree.

Ever since I came to Alataw City, I have seen its great changes. During the “Thirteenth Five-Year Plan”period, we focused our attention and efforts on the overall goal of social stability and long-term peace and order by addressing both symptoms and root causes in a holistic way. We maintained the overall social stability and succeeded in establishing Alataw as a national demonstration city of ethnic unity and a city of outstanding safety in Xinjiang. We implemented a new vision of development and promoted high-quality development. By acting initiatively and overcoming hardships, we strengthened our comprehensive competence by a large degree and gained approval for building a national logistic hub of land border port type. We are vigorously pushing forward our infrastructure construction, strengthening our weak links, improving quality and making innovations, so our city is becoming increasingly habitable and industry-friendly. We are carrying out the strategy of building an ecological city deeply and fighting hard to win the battle against pollution, so our ecological environment is seeing a continuous improvement. We stick to the concept of people-centered development by making ceaseless efforts to ensure and improve people’s livelihood. As a result, people’s living standard is upgraded and the major projects for public well-being promised solemnly are completed as scheduled. The results of high-quality development benefit all ethnic groups of Alataw City, a city now serves as a key link and platform of China’s national logistic hub construction.

I absolutely believe that as long as all the 56 ethnic groups and all the 1.4 billion Chinese people unite together like pomegranate seeds and join hands to march forward in high spirits on the new journey to the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation, there is no way Pompeo can stop the process. Justice may be late, but never absent. Together with Pompeo himself, all the deceptions spread and poison split by him these years will be dumped as trash. Mike Pompeo will be sentenced and penalized by justice.
