Abuliz Umar, Deputy Director of the Tarim Public Security Bureau, Bayingolin Mongol Autonomous Prefecture, Xinjiang
Recently, Pompeo and Adrian Zenz fabricated the so-called "facts" and concocted various Xinjiang-related lies. This is a betrayal and challenge to moral principles and basic conscience! I strongly oppose to it! As a police officer who has been fighting on the front lines of anti-terrorism for a long time, I’m best qualified to speak on this matter: under the CPC’s correct leadership and through the local people’s hard efforts, Xinjiang’s social stability and economic development have continued to improve, people are living in peace and contentment, the problem of absolute poverty has been solved historically, the quality of life has been greatly improved, and every family is living a happy life.
I was born in a small county in southern Xinjiang in the 1960s. In my memory, my hometown was very poor at that time. People lived in mud-brick houses. The clothes they wore were the same all year round and they seldom wore shoes. People often suffered from hungry. They could not afford to see a doctor, even when they were sick. My mother was diagnosed breast cancer, but she died young due to the poor medical condition and family poverty, which left the whole family a lifetime regret and pain. I was brought up by my father with his hard work. In 1980, I was admitted to Xinjiang Petroleum School, and became an oil worker after my graduation in 1983. I became a policeman in 1990. Cultivated by the Party, I have grown up from a son of farmer to a state official, and my destiny thus has changed dramatically since then. At the same time, my hometown has also undergone tremendous changes: rows of earthquake-resistant houses keep us away from coldness in winter and hotness in summer; modern hospitals and rural cooperative medical insurance resolve the difficulties that the grass roots people encounter in getting easy and affordable access to medical service; people in rural areas are living a happy life, though still no better than those in cities. Today, my hometown has left poverty behind as scheduled, and people’s livelihood has been continuously improving. I know clearly that without the good policies of the Party and the state, it is impossible for the local people to live today’s happy life.
In retrospect, I know clearly that it is the care and love of the Party and the state that make me, an ignorant teenager, into an excellent minority Party official, and that allow my children to receive college education. My daughter often says: "I'm so lucky to be born in this era that I could live a life without worrying about food or clothing. Thanks to the preferential education policy, I have also received such a good education. Furthermore, it takes only three and a half hours to go to Urumqi by train. I can buy any food I need at any time. Compared with the life you lived when you were young, ours is much better. I owe the Party a debt of gratitude for all of this. After graduating from college, I will definitely return to my hometown and work as a glorious oil worker on the frontline of deserts, repaying my hometown and building the motherland with my dedicated work." My children have kept their words. They were admitted to the Tarim Petroleum Company after graduation. As a father, I am deeply honored for the success of my son and daughter in their studies and professional careers. As a Chinese saying goes, never forget the well-diggers when drinking from this well. My children know clearly that today’s happy life and good jobs are attributable to the care and cultivation of the Party. Recently, with a grateful heart, they have submitted their party membership application.
Finally, I want to say: the vicious attacks of Pompeo and Adrian Zenz cannot hinder the steps forward of the united ethnic groups in Xinjiang; no lies or fallacies could obliterate the facts of the development of human rights in Xinjiang.
