On his last day in office as the former US secretary of state, Pompeo attacked and slandered the human rights conditions in Xinjiang, China and smeared the Chinese government’s achievements in de-radicalization and combating terrorism. He wantonly defamed our country’s governance of Xinjiang and rudely interfered with China’s internal affairs. His intention is sinister and his means is despicable. The current stable and prosperous conditions of Xinjiang won’t ever be changed because of his slander and smear. I strongly oppose and feel indignant to his Xinjiang-related anti-China remarks.

I am Dolkun Eminjan of Uyghur ethnic background. My family and I were born, grew up and are now working in Qabqal County. We are all witnesses ,participants and beneficiaries of the prosperity and development of Xinjiang. In my childhood, my family lived with people of different ethnic backgrounds, including Uyghur, Han, Xibo and Kazakh at the same street. We children of different ethnicity played together, went to the school together and grew up together.The living and education settings enabled us to feel that it is a natural instinct to enjoy ethnic solidarity and harmony. We didn’t say ours or yours and we didn’t feel estranged from each other.

Now,Xinjiang is at the best time of boom and development in history because of sustained social development, stable and harmonious social condition and ever improving people’s livelihood. Achievements of poverty relief have benefited people in the north and south of the Tianshan Mountains. In recent years in particular, Qabqal County has seen great achievements in poverty relief as the infrastructure facilities have been improved comprehensively and industrial development basis has been greatly enhanced. In 2017 Qabqal County was able to shake off poverty and all the impoverished people and villages were lifted out of poverty.We bid farewell to absolute poverty.

The ethnic languages, characters, cultures and customs in Xinjiang have been fully protected and preserved. For example, our county is proud to have the only Xibo newspaper in the world. Radio programs are broadcast in four languages,namely Uyghur, Mandarin, Kazakh and Xibo. The traditional ethnic cultural activities such as the Uyghur Maxrap, Kazakh Aytes, Xibo Memorial Day of Western Movement have been held extensively in rural areas. The historical cultural heritages including the Ancient City of Hainuk, Honghaigou Vallay Mazaar, Jingyuan Mosque have all been well preserved and protected. However, Pompeo is not willing to see all these. Instead he turns a blind eye and talks nonsense. We are very clear bout what he thinks and wants to do. He pretends to show care and concern, but his true aim is to interfere with our internal affairs and damage the good condition we enjoy.

Cultivated by the Communist Party and the country for years and having benefited much, I , a leading cadre will never allow Pompeo to damage our wonderful life and our beautiful homeland,and destroy the happy life people of all ethnicity now enjoying in harmony. Pompeo, you will certainly end up beaten by all as a rat because you have only yourself to blame.
