Pompeo, the former US Secretary of State, with his show of madness just before the curtain fell, made a vicious attack against China’s policies governing Xinjiang, concocted the lie of the century about “crimes against humanity and genocide” and smeared the happy life of people of all ethnic groups in Xinjiang. It exposed his ugly face and ill intention. As a native Uyghur Communist Party member and cadre in Xinjiang, I have participated in, experienced and witnessed the stability and development of Xinjiang. I’m strongly indignant about and opposed to it. I will use my personal experience to strip away the shameful and evil lies.

I was born in an ordinary family of Uyghur cadre. My mother is a senior Party member, being a township cadre for over 20 years. My father is a state staff member. 4 of 5 brothers and sisters in my family including me are state cadres. So is my wife. As a little child, I used to play together with some Han children in the residential area of the Township government. I grew up in the environment of multi-ethnic groups and personally experienced the integrating and harmonious life of all ethnic groups. My hometown Kaerquga Township of Yuli County used to be an out-of-the-way place without water and electricity, backward in transportation and poor in life. In recent years, with the implementation of a series of policies benefiting people including the construction of beautiful villages and rural living environment improvement initiative, tarmacked roads have been extended to the doorway of every household and energy-saving lamps have illuminated the whole village at night. It has been equipped with running water, electricity, natural gas, radio and television facilities and the Internet. The people of all ethnic groups share the fruits of reform and development and obtain much more substantial benefits. Each family is living and working in peace and contentment, enjoying better education, more stable jobs, more satisfying income, more perfect social security, a higher level of medical services, and more comfortable and beautiful living environment.

Over the years, I would not have made progress in my life and work without the cultivation and care of the Communist Party, and support from my colleagues of various ethnicity. Having worked for over 30 years, I have gradually grown up into a Communist Party member and cadre. In January, 2016, I volunteered to apply for joining in the “Fanghuiju program” aimed at investigating people’s conditions, serving their interests, and winning their hearts. I came to Tuanjie Community, Tewulike Township, Heshuo County. I have personally experienced social stability, and witnessed the fulfillment of the Party’s strategies for governing Xinjiang, the implementation of preferential policies and corresponding improvement of people’s livelihood and beautiful smiles upon the faces of people of all ethnic groups. Over two years’ work at the grassroots level, I witnessed the tremendous change of people’s lives as follows: children of preschool age go to kindergarten for free; dirt roads are turned into tarmacked ones and adobe houses into anti-seismic low-income housing; people in need enjoy rural minimal social security; an annual free physical examination and medical insurance cover everybody in the community…Each time I communicated with those inhabitants, I was able to feel their full senses of fulfilment, well-being and security through speeches and eye contacts.

Facts speak louder than words. Justice lies in the heart of people. Pompeo, your lies with ulterior motives can never hinder the drive of prosperity and development of Xinjiang. People of all ethnic groups in Xinjiang will cherish the hard-won good situation, unswervingly safeguard national unity and ethnic solidarity, and pull together to create a more splendid future.
