Recently, Mike Pompeo and Adrian Zenz confounded facts, confused right and wrong, and attacked Xinjiang with words, deliberately smearing Xinjiang’s human rights and wantonly vilifying Xinjiang’s wonderful picture and happy life of all ethnic groups in Xinjiang, with the malicious and evil purpose of trying to sabotage Xinjiang’s stability and to hamper Xinjiang’s development. I want to disclose their ugly political intention with facts and truth. The “century lie” made up by them could only serve the function to prove their degraded nature and evil purpose of attempting to interfere in China’s internal affairs.

After hearing their false remarks on Xinjiang, as a Uygur who was born and raised up here, I would like to point out clearly that in issues about Xinjiang, all Xinjiang people are the best qualified to speak on them. With the hardworking efforts of all ethnic groups, over the 70 years since the founding of the People’s Republic of China, especially since the Party’s 18th national congress, great achievements have been accomplished in all aspects of Xinjiang’s economy and society. The society is stable, the development continues to grow, and people are living in peace and contentment. In 2020, together with other places in China, Xinjiang won the great “battle” of eliminating poverty with outstanding results and people’s sense of gain, happiness and security has been improved with great extent.

Let me take the field of market regulation, which I am working at present, as an example. The subjects subject to regulation are companies, individual businesses and private enterprises, and with the help and support of various beneficiary policies from the Party and government the environment for business undertaking continues to develop better and better. Some of such typical policies are giving more functions to companies and enterprises, simplifying qualification procedure, getting certificate online, getting certificate without meeting face to face, whole-process electronic signing in, acting to sign in and register in banks, and giving more evaluation and inspection rights to the village and the town level and so on. The business environment continues to grow better and the market entity strength improves all the time. At present there are over 269,000 market entities in overall number, which is a 19.7 % increase compared to last year, and the overall number of market entities is in the second place in Xinjiang. In Shache and Payzawat, the governments actively explore such policies as “letting the market entities to get through inspection and to get certificates within seconds”. The governments buy service from market in various means so as to further narrow down the time of companies in opening business. All these measures are taken to make sure that company opens with zero cost and certificates be obtained within one day! Every one is entitled to enjoy these polices, no matter which ethnic group one belongs to. Looking at these huge changes happening in Kashgar, I could not help but feeling that our life is getting better and better each day. Every one living here holds boundless gratitude to the great Communist Party of China and to the great country China.

As required by work, in recent years I have worked in villages for three times, witnessing in person the earth-shaking changes happening in southern Xinjiang. The three southern prefectures were once listed as the most poor regions in the country, but now all of them are out of poverty and the poverty alleviation “battle” is historically won. The housing, medical care, education, employment and other aspects of people’s living are protected to the full. The bright and sunny smiles of people show their most hearty support of ethnic policies of the Party and government from the bottom of their hearts. Aketikan Village, Guleluke Town in Payzawat County was such a poverty-stricken village that was assigned as the helping and aiding village. In 2014, 743 people in 182 families were listed as the most poor and the village was the most poor in nearby areas. In the following 6 years, with the beneficiary policies from the Party, in 2020 the whole village was out of poverty and villagers are excited on their way to building a moderately prosperous society in an all-around way. At present, all villagers are living in spacious and comfortable preferential houses, with modern equipment as television, refrigerator, washing machine, sofa, furniture, bed, dinning table etc. The layout for living room, bed room, kitchen and toilet room is reasonable, with the combination of traditional style with modern atmosphere. In the courtyard, there are wonderful shed for grapes, various vegetables as eggplants, chilies, tomatoes are hanging in the orchard, and there are musical sound of pigeons, chicken and ducks in the poultry shed. Looking at these wonderful pictures, one can not but help feeling happy and contented, while Aketikan Village is just one such typical example. We worked diligently by day and night, making progress steadily, helping the once poverty-stricken families get out of poverty and get rich, and making our own contribution in countryside rejuvenation. I often heard the villagers say that “it is beyond our imagination that we are having such a wonderful life today”.

With these facts, Pompeo and Zenz choose to shut their eyes. They looked upon lies as the truth, which not only show their ugly nature but also reveal their malicious intention. My growing up experience is the best proof to refute their lies and rumors. In 1966 I was born in Kashgar and my parents were officials in government. Since childhood I live and play with friends who are from various ethnic groups, including Han. After my father passed away, my mother worked diligently to support the family. We were given numerous help and support from relatives, friends and colleagues, including those Han “uncles and aunts” in my mother’s working place. From childhood to adulthood and from studying to working, I and my “brothers and sisters”, who are relatives and friends from various ethnic groups, together witnessed the huge changes happening in our great nation and felt in person the meticulous care and attention from the Party and government. All of us hold boundless gratitude and thanks to the Party and government from the bottom of our hearts. In 2020, there were three times when covid-19 broke out in Kashgar, which left a profound impression on the minds of people here. Especially in the two times of covid-19 breaking out in Shule and Shufu respectively, we felt more heartily the care and warmth from the Party. Under the firm leadership of the Party, we hold the concept that people’s life is the first priority, scientific, decisive and prompt measures will be taken to protect life, safety and health of all people (including Uygur people) to the utmost degree. One such typical example is an old Uygur granny who persisted all the way. With the best doctors in our region, the most advanced medical technology and the most efficient medical care service, the granny cooperated excellently with doctors and nurses, and finally she was recovered from illness successfully. This is just so moving and encouraging!

Facts speak louder than words and lies could never deceive the wise. Xinjiang is China’s Xinjiang. Xinjiang people’s resolute will in maintaining national sovereignty, security and development will never waver and Xinjiang people’s resolute will in fighting against any foreign intervention will never waver. No rumor can stop Xinjiang people on their way to making progress in unity and solidarity! No conspiracy can interfere in Xinjiang people’s firm steps in achieving prosperity and development!
