My name is Kurbanjan Maimaiti. I am now Standing Committee Member of Discipline Inspection Commission and member of Supervisory Commission, Kizilsu Kirgiz Autonomous Prefecture. A few days ago, Pompeo once again aimed at China and slandered the Chinese government with a false accusation of committing the so-called “genocide” and “crimes against humanity” against Uygur Muslims and other ethnic groups in Xinjiang. As a Uygur official, I would like to tell Pompeo his likes that we Uygur and other ethnic groups, under the leadership and care of the Communist Party of China, are living a very happy life. Pompeo’s lie doesn’t have any factual basis and is a vicious slander. Therefore, I express my strong indignation and resolute opposition to such a lie.

I was born in an ordinary farmer’s family in Artux City, Xinjiang. After graduating from university, under the education and cultivation of the Party, I gradually grew into a Party member and a leading official through the experience of many posts. Over the years, I have witnessed every change in my hometown, including changes from the sandy dirt road to the clean and flat asphalt road, from the weedy clay canals to the orderly distribution of hardened canals, from the scattered patches of fields to high standard farmland of the scientific planning, from the dilapidated small adobe houses to the clean houses, from donkey carts to bicycles, from motorcycles to cars, from hours of travel on foot to the minutes of bus trip and so on. The changes also involve such aspects as follows: subsidiaries for breeding and house pasting and building, subsistence allowances for difficulties, and medical insurance for medical treatment. Since kindergarten, children have been taking classes in spacious and bright classrooms, enjoying free compulsory education from the State. Farmers and herdsmen can also enjoy free skill training, and all the people enjoy free physical examination. These changes are the truest portrayal of the Party’s policy of benefiting the people. Personally, my eldest daughter goes to senior high school in the inland province, and all tuition and round trip transportation fees from home to her school are covered by the government. My youngest daughter goes to Experimental Primary School of Kizilsu Kirgiz Autonomous Prefecture, and all tuition and miscellaneous fees are free.

In 2017, I went to a village in Artux city to do poverty alleviation work. This village used to be a gravely poverty-stricken village. In recent years, the Party and the government have vigorously implemented the policies of benefiting the people. They insist on implementing policies according to actual conditions of the village and the households, and taking the right medicine according to the symptoms. They have taken various measures at the same time, such as investing small credit funds of poverty alleviation for the poor households, implementing the project of livestock raising spots in animal husbandry, and building 2000 square meters of agricultural and sideline products. At the same time, the Munage grape in Artux city is well-known at home and abroad, and enjoys the reputation of Home of Green Munage Grape. The village planted more than 2300 mu of grapes under the support of policy. Since 2018, through the implementation of grape quality improvement and efficiency enhancement project, the fruit industry of unique characteristics has achieved remarkable achievements, and the yield of fruits has been greatly improved. As a result, the enthusiasm of fruit farmers has been greatly stimulated.

By 2019, the whole village has shaken off poverty and taken on a brand new look.The per capita income of the village has increased and the villagers have lived the same life as the people in the city do. The happiness index will be higher and higher.

Even a small gratitude should be returned with a big reward. As a Uygur party member and official, I would like to say no to Pompeo who slandered and smeared our country and will fight against Pompeo and his likes to the end.
