Recently, Pompeo, a big liar, has attacked China’s policy of ruling Xinjiang groundlessly, spreading a large number of outrageous rumors, falsely claiming that the Chinese government has committed “crimes against humanity” and “genocide” against Xinjiang’s ethnic minorities, deliberately discrediting the good life of the people of all ethnic groups in Xinjiang with an attempt to undermine Xinjiang’s ethnic unity and social stability. As a Kazakh grassroots leader, I firmly oppose and strongly condemn the crime of maliciously creating and spreading political virus by Pompeo!

My name is Altay, which is also the name of the land in Xinjiang. My ancestors lived in the Altay grassland. My father gave me such a tender name out of his deep love for this grassland. No matter where I go, I am always connected with my lovely hometown.

Thanks to the national education policy for ethnic minorities, I came to Beijing to study in 1997 and got a doctorate in Renmin University of China, a first-class university in China. Later, I stayed in Beijing for 15 years. In 2020, at call of my heart, I return to work in Xinjiang. I am now working in Barkol Kazakh Autonomous County. Barkol is a famous historical and cultural city in Xinjiang. It is the main route of the ancient Silk Road into Xinjiang and the second largest grassland in Xinjiang. With the national policy of enriching the people and revitalizing Xinjiang, through the hard work of the broad masses of civil workers and the great help of the inland provinces and cities that aid Xinjiang, Barkol County, while maintaining a place of clear water and green mountains, vigorously develops emerging industries to help farmers and herdsmen to become rich and increase their income. In 2017, it successfully removed the title of “national poor county”. Here, people of all ethnic groups help each other, communicate with each other, and blend with each other. Kazakh people use Dongbula to play and sing the long-standing poems of their ancestors, and happily experience the changes of the new era.

Barkol county has a population of only 100000, but its area is larger than that of two Beijing cities. As a student of finance, I am very curious about Barkol. When I came to Barkol, my pace of life changed fundamentally. I used to be so busy working in the county that I worked till very late every day. In the county, I am in charge of employment. Employment is not only a “thermometer” for improving people’s livelihood, but also a “barometer” for economic development. After a period of hard work, the employment in Barkol county has greatly improved. With the care and support of the central government, Barkol has seized the opportunity of industrial development in recent years, relying on superior resources to vigorously introduce modern enterprises to develop and expand the local economy. Once, when I was investigating an enterprise, I saw Quhayifu, a villager in Haiziyan township. He used to be a pure herdsman, but now he is an industrial worker with a monthly salary of 8000 yuan, much higher than my salary. He said that working here, with a considerable income, can provide with opportunities to communicate with people from all over the world, which has greatly broadened his vision. It is very worthwhile. In Barkol, there are many people like Quhayifu who strive to create a better life. When I came back to work in Xinjiang, I deeply felt the great ruling concept of the Communist Party of China with people as the center. Enhancing people’s well-being and realizing people’s well-being are the driving force and goal for us to constantly explore, innovate and work hard.

Poverty alleviation is the great glory of the Chinese people, the Communist Party of China and the Chinese nation. Working in Barkol Kazakh Autonomous County in Xinjiang, I fully realized the great opportunities for the development of Xinjiang and deeply felt the greatness of this era.

Pompeo’s fallacies about Xinjiang’s “genocide” and “crimes against humanity” are purely for his self-interest and are a series of ridiculous farces. Pompeo’s lies can not stop the firm pace of Xinjiang’s development and progress. His behavior will be nailed to the stigma of history, and all kinds of unreasonable lies fabricated by Pompeo are bound to be swept into the garbage heap of history.
