For a period of time, disregarding the facts, Pompeo and Adrian Zenz always have unprovoked attacks and deliberate smears of China’s policies towards Xinjiang. Their performances have seriously interfered in China’s internal affairs, wantonly instigated ethnic relations, obliterated various achievements in Xinjiang, and ignored the true feelings of the people of all ethnic groups in Xinjiang. Clearly, these lies expose the ugly faces and sinister intentions of the two lying politicians.

Bortala Mongol Autonomous Prefecture, where I grew up and work, has a population of 500,000 or so. Among them, ethnic minorities account for 35%. There has always been a fine tradition of ethnic unity. Important historical events such as moving to the west, returning to the motherland, and reclaiming the borders have always inspired the people of all minorities to live in harmony, work in harmony and develop in harmony. Also, Bortala, with blue sky, green land and clear water, is ecologically livable, industrious and tourist friendly. In 2012, it was named the first safe state in Xinjiang. In 2019, it was successfully established as a national model state of unity and progress.

As a native ethic minority official, I was grown up under the care and cultivation of the Communist Party. I have participated, witnessed and benefited steady development of this great city. I deeply love this land, the brilliant culture of ethic groups’ exchanges on this land, and the united, kind and hardworking people of all ethnic groups on this land. My wife and I were both born in an ordinary Uygur family. When we were young, we went to school and played with our friends from Han, Mongolian and Kazakh nationalities. We grew up together. We were moved from a low bungalow to a tall building together. From the childhood neighbors to united colleges, our relationship is based on the affectionate embrace every time we meet, the trust of sitting down and talking about household affairs, and also the mutual support and cooperation at work. This kind of life experience makes us more united, let’s more resolutely safeguard national unity and oppose national division and more cherish the happy life of unity and stability today.

A lie is always a lie. We are the people who have a say in Xinjiang-related issues. We will hold together like pomegranate seeds and work hard to build Bortala into a harmonious, prosperous, civilized, contented and ecological place. No matter how Pompeo and Adrian Zenz lied, cheated or gossiped, they can’t destroy social stability or disturb our happy life.
