Pompeo, “the worst Secretary of State in the history of the United States”, and Adrian Zenz, a German anti-China scholar, have recently spread Xinjiang-related fallacies, attacking and deliberately smearing Xinjiang. It is a flagrant violation of the basic norms governing international relations, a malicious attack on the human rights situation in Xinjiang, a disregard for the great achievements made in Xinjiang’s social development, and a slander of the tremendous efforts made by the people of all ethnic groups in Xinjiang to fight terrorism and de-radicalization in accordance with law. I firmly oppose and strongly condemn their actions. What they have done will only make us firmly spurn them.

My mother, Zetulahan Rexiti, who is nearly 100 years old, has witnessed the great course of Xinjiang’s peaceful liberation, the suppression of bandits and the suppression of insurgencies, the establishment of the people’s government, the establishment of the autonomous region, large-scale socialist construction, reform and opening up, and the construction of socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era. My mother embodies the fine traditions and virtues of the Chinese nation, and has a strong sense of patriotism and national pride. She often said, “Before liberation, I didn’t even have enough noodles to eat except for one occasion, i.e. Eid al-Adha. Now, I have children and grandchildren, and there is no need to worry about food and clothing, and I am offered with basic pension, old age subsidies, medical insurance, and so on. My life is really good, and I am in the good times.”

Yes, my mother is right. We are really fortunate to live in such good times. There are 13 members in my family, and there are all in all more than 150 members including my mother, my wife, my daughter-in-law, and my son-in-law’s family. The so-called genocide is a big lie and a bad joke in Uyghurs’ eyes. Facts speak louder than words. The development of Xinjiang has been witnessed by all the people in Xinjiang, and the happiness of the people in Xinjiang has the best say in the matter and will not be questioned by others. Pompeo’s sinister intentions will eventually become the laughing stock of history.
