Pompeo and Adrian Zenz’s Xinjiang-related Fallacies Are a Disregard for Facts

Muhpur Hasan, Deputy Commissioner of the Administrative Office of Communist Party Committee, Aksu Prefecture

Ignoring facts, Pompeo and Adrian Zenz published Xinjiang-related lies and fallacies, attacked and deliberately slandered China’s governance of Xinjiang, and grossly interfered in China’s internal affairs, which not only seriously trampled on international laws and the norms of state relations, but also hurt the feelings of 1.4 billion Chinese people, including 25 million people of all ethnic groups in Xinjiang. What they did cannot make any big waves and will be severely punished by history in the end.

Xinjiang attaches great importance to education, adheres to the priority development of education, vigorously implements education projects for the benefit of people, and ensures that every child enjoys a fair and quality education. In Aksu Prefecture alone, for example, by the end of the 13th Five-Year Plan, there were nearly 2,000 schools at all levels in this region. Free bilingual education for 3-year preschool was fully popularized in rural areas, with a gross enrollment rate of 98.9%. The enrollment rate of school-age children and adolescents in primary school and junior middle school was 99.9% and 99.4% respectively, and the consolidation rate of 9-year compulsory education was 96.1%; the enrollment rate of disabled children and adolescents aged 7-15 reached 98.3%. The comprehensive implementation of the plan of popularization of senior high school education promoted the coordinated development of ordinary high school and secondary vocational education, and the ratio of ordinary high school to secondary vocational school was 5.4:4.6, realizing the full coverage of high school education for junior middle school graduates. Vocational education school-enterprise cooperation and industry-education integration are gradually deepening.

With the rapid development of higher education, Aksu Vocational and Technical College and Aksu Education Institute were relocated as a whole, and Xinjiang Institute of Technology was successfully transferred, filling the gap that there was no institute of technology in Xinjiang and no application-oriented undergraduate college in Aksu Prefecture. A whole chain of education system from preschool to university has been established. Major breakthroughs have been made in the development of faculty, and the recruitment mechanism has been reformed and improved. A total of 21,000 qualified teachers have been recruited, and the number, quality and structure of faculty have been continuously improved. 15-year free education from preschool to high school have been fully implemented, and students from economically disadvantaged families have been fully covered by financial aid. Throughout Xinjiang, it is because Xinjiang attaches great importance to education that the right to education of all ethnic minorities has been comprehensively guaranteed, achieving full coverage of 9-year compulsory education in Xinjiang and 3-year preschool education and 12-year basic education in south Xinjiang.

Facts speak louder than words! When we look around us, earth shaking changes have taken place in education, medical care, transportation, agriculture and animal husbandry, urban and rural construction and development. People eat, wear, live, use and travel without worry. Our life is so happy and comfortable. Today’s Xinjiang is enjoying the best period of prosperity and development in its history. People of all ethnic groups live in peace and contentment, enjoying full rights to subsistence, development and other basic rights. As an ethnic minority cadre and a Communist Party member in Xinjiang, I am a witness and a direct beneficiary. I am proud of my great motherland! I just want to speak out: Pompeo, Adrian Zenz, stop your ridiculous performances and wake up! No more slander.
