Benefited from the measures taken by Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region this year, import and export trade volume of road transport has increased 57.7% year on year.

"In the current round of the epidemic in Xinjiang, the Horgos port has maintained unimpeded freight flow, and our production and business activities have not been affected. Now we can export 30 to 40 wagons of goods every day, with the peak of more than 50 wagons. The daily export cargo volume is about 900 tons, mainly to Central Asian countries." said Yu Chengzhong, whose company is one of the larger import and export trading companies in Horgos. He also said the company has expanded its import and export business, benefiting from the smooth flow through the port.

In order to further enhance the opening-up of the port, improve the efficiency of port clearance, and ensure the stable and smooth clearance of import and export, the Horgos Customs has further promoted the reform of ‘clearance, management and service’, constantly optimized the overall cargo clearance process, and worked closely with port joint inspection units to reduce the time limit of cargo clearance.

Ma Lei, deputy chief of the general business department of Horgos Customs, said that in order to further optimize the port business environment, the customs continues to adopt the 7×24 (24 hour a day, 7 days a week) customs clearance operation mode, make good use of intelligent platforms such as ‘one-stand window’ and ‘Internet + Customs’ for international trade, realize integrated customs clearance, and push forward various business facilitation reforms such as self-service declaration and payment, aggregate taxation and electronic payment. Customs clearance has been further facilitated to contribute to the unimpeded domestic and international circulations, the security and stability of industrial and supply chains.
