Tourists come to visit the 16th Xinjiang Winter Tourism Industrial Trade Expo and the first Xinjiang winter games in Altay City, NW China’s Xinjiang

The 16th Xinjiang Winter Tourism Industrial Trade Expo and the first Xinjiang winter games kicked off in Altay City on December 30, 2022. This Expo will last until April 2023, with the theme of "Charming Snow, Charming Future", and it is divided into three parts: warm-up activities, opening ceremony and supporting activities. The first Xinjiang winter games will be held from December 30, 2022 to February 20, 2023, with the theme of "Enjoy ice and snow in Altay, feel the vitality of Xinjiang". The activities in this winter games are divided into two categories: competitive sports and mass sports. Competitive sports include speed skating, short track speed skating, figure skating and other 10 competitive sports. Each sporting event is divided into Group A and Group B according to age, with a total of 117 subitems. Altay Prefecture undertakes 7 major sporting events of the winter games, with about 1000 participants. These two activities will show Altay’s time-honored ice and snow culture, rich ice and snow resources, and wonderful ice and snow sports to the world, and further promote the development of ice and snow industry in Altay Prefecture.
